I could barely bring myself to finish "in the motherhood" but maybe i'm not the target audience for that show -- what did everyone else think?
I wish CBS would move adventures of old christine or create a comedy block there because they can definitely beat NBC -- unfortunately beating them when they are down.

In series-premiere news, ABC sitcom In the Motherhood was nothing to boast about with 6.72 million viewers and a 2.1/ 6 among adults 18-49 -- third in both categories (and better than NBC’s competing My Name is Earl). Comparably, this was about equal to the weak-ago performance of former occupant Ugly Betty. In the Motherhood led into the return of Samantha Who?, which debuted in the Thursday 8:30 p.m. time period with a compatible 6.53 million viewers (#3) and a 2.1/ 6 in the demo (#2t).
These two may have a chance. With American Idol gone next week, its possible they could build.
i actually think the bob saget show will do better on Thurs than In the motherhood.
I can't believe the way they are treating TR Knight on Grey's Anatomy -- I don't think he's had a scene or an episode that totals more than 5 minutes all season long.
Also, can everyone please save one vote for matt giraud on Idol next week! thanks.
Where do you get your information from? It could only because grey's ratings were slightly higher. I think they made the promos look like it was something that it wasn't. at least, not yet.

OH OH! NBC is losing a TV legend this Thursday and its sad as the clock will stop that night on the last piece of quality left on network television outside of CBS. NBC might be DOA from here on out like The Can't Watch Network. Hopefully Southland hits for them and they can build the network around it.
Its been a tough decade but now the multi-cams are finally back.
What a piece of shit and waste of time In the Motherhood was. I actually thought it was going to be decent but it was really bad. The only thing that I would give it right now is that its the best of the current ABC comedies right now but that's not saying much folks. It was so bad that I turned to Idol for Smokey Robinson then as soon as Idol went to commercial break I turned to NBC only to notice how terrible their comedies are too then I finally turned to basketball and Friends on TBS and felt happy of getting my time back.
I really do miss NBC's Must See TV Thursday lineup and tonight it really hit more than it has in recent years. Watching Friends kind of took me back for a second.
Until Surviving Suburbia airs most of us who like watching true network sitcoms will be saved after 5 years of single-cam garbage. ABC is better off getting Roommates from ABC Family and replacing it.
If I want to see a single-cam comedy then I'll go watch My Boys on cable which is done the way a single-cam is supposed to be. Not an unfunny half-hour dramaedy.
Hopefully for our sakes SS will do well. It might have to do as well as SW did last year when it came out. Its good to see Steve learning his lesson and finally coming out with more of these traditional comedies in development as I think they'll be a successful as CBS has been with them lately.
The networks have ignored the traditional sitcom lovers for years and went single-cam happy after the success of Malcolm in the Middle on FOX and it hasn't worked for them at all. The best and only watchable single-cams are on cable like My Boys, Sunny in Philly, Weeds, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. They just don't work on networks b/c their too limited.

Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? is definitely coming back this August but a host has not been decided yet as they don't know if Regis is coming back or not. They still have a lot of time to sort things out.
Do you have a link? I havent heard about this yet.

Just wondering with all those banners, do you watch all those shows every week?

I think you may be right about ER addicts switching to PP to fill the void in their Thursday night.
I cant speak for others, but I for one wont switch over to Private Practice. Private Practice is a load of garbage as is Grey's Anatomy IMO. I am going to give Southland a shot as it looks pretty good. If I don't like it, I will just shut my television off.

Well, four of those shows are on CBS Monday nights, which I rarely miss. On the other hand, CBS' two other comedies are almost never on anymore, and I usually watch Criminal Minds. Three of the banners have yet to premiere, so they may go away. Meanwhile, Fringe and Flashpoint are currently on hiatus.

Really bad numbers for ITM and SW. I know it was against AI, but for premiere number ITM should have done better. I am sure lots of people (like me) who sampled the show last night will not return. Also, remember, that even though AI will not be on in that time slot next week, but Survivor and Bones will. I think these shows are just doomed.
I really hope Surviving Suburbia does much better, because maybe ABC will finally realize they need to go back to multi camera, traditional sitcoms.
That makes one scripted show for FOX this summer and three scripted shows for NBC this summer. CBS and ABC have yet to confirm their schedules. CW, while not confirmed, will almost certainly have zero scripted shows this summer.
