(A) Grey ran over by about a minute, so Eleventh Hour could beat it in viewers, but probably not the demo.
(B) Looks like the DH is crumbling talk from Monday has carried over. Not that I want to see it, but I am glad that Grey also saw a decline and it's not just the Housewives failing.
A) It's likely that CSI ran over too, so that might not matter as much.
B) To be fair to GA, it was a regular episode going up against a big premeire. A drop in ratings isn't really surprising. I think GA has a better chance of rebounding some from this drop than DH has of rebounding from its drop.
C) I just defended ABC and Grey's Anatomy.....something seems very wrong here...
I'm...amazed at the "Life on Mars" premiere numbers. Truly, I never thought it could beat the tried-and-true procedural like "11th Hour." Here's hoping it maintains that momentum in the coming weeks...it is such a good story.
And to whoever asked the question..."finding the fiancee" was the plot of the Pilot, but won't factor as much into the other eps (if it's anything like the original). The main plot of the original is "trying to get home" (which leaves a lot more room for interpretation )

A) Hi everyone
B) I agree -- GA is much more likely to rebound than DH -- I think DH has permanently lost viewers with its five-year forward timeline while Grey's is still creatively strong and was going up against a much-hyped eppy.
C) Wow, I just agreed with Holly. What's wrong with me?! ;-)
I'll reserve judgement on whether LIFE ON MARS or ELEVENTH HOUR are winners or losers until next week...the curiosity factor is always in play in debuts. Though if ELVENTH doesn't hold up it will be due to the FRINGE FACTOR...as in how many scientific mystery shows can the market support. Remember the LOST clones tanking...INVASION, SURFACE and the CBS version whose name escapes me now.
Baseball playoffs should be regulated to ESPN or some other sporting network-surely by now the number of american homes that have cable or dish have to surpass those homes watching on rabbit ears.

That sounds really good then. I wouldn't mind the "finding fiancee" plot going episode to episode, but I am not sure how others would.
Would be nice to see similar numbers for the show next week.
GA could tick back up a few million next week, but I think DH has the ability to do the same. Both will be down year to year, and I think we should all expect that. Both programs will still remain solid performers for ABC, though.
You wanna talk about awful sitcoms -- did anyone check out Kath and Kim? if these are the shows that NBC is developing, they will never be must see tv (comedy) ever again. Especially with those two stars.
glad to see the CSI has finally gotten back to 22 million. It's tough with serialized shows like betty and grey, you need a great story to drive the ratings, you miss an episode, you end up not wanting to watch the new one until you see the old one.
According to medialifemagazine, this was the first time EVER that Grey's lost to CSI for tops in the demo, and first time ever it was not the top show for the night (on Thursdays):
OK, CSI did fantastic, EH bombed badly. It's gonna be canceled much quicker than i thought
GA did much worse than i expected and i don't think it'll pick up in the next weeks. Life on Mars might get a full season beacuase ABC has problems but it'll drop below 10 million in a couple of weeks.
