Dumont, even if this holds up once the finals are out (and I'd have thought you'd have learned your lesson about trusting overnights last Tuesday), in what alternate universe is going up by perhaps one tenth of a percentage point in the demo when you're already far below the minimum #'s necessary for survival a 'rebound'?
Just because the show's ratings have gone down week after week, doesn't mean we have to lower our own standards to the point where a tiny uptick counts as positive news.
There IS no positive news. And even on Whedonesque, they're mentioning that it has fallen from one half hour to the next, every single week so far this season.
Even a lot of people who tune in end up tuning back out. It can't hold the tiny audience it has. As we shall see in the coming weeks.

The baseball playoff game this coming Friday may interrupt this growth momentum, so FOX will have to make sure to give it a few promotional bumpers the night before it returns on the Thursday October 22nd episode of 'Fringe'.

Or move it to Monday at 9pm...

It won't make it to November. I'm shocked the usually trigger-happy Fox hasn't blown up this Friday night yet. I think its clear they're giving Brothers a chance on Sundays this week. If that pulls any audience there at all, it will be moved permanently. Fox will likely just burn off Til Death in the summer or later this season and drama repeats/ cheap reality will fill Fridays. I guess they have Kitchen Nightmares and probably Moment of Truth burn off.

Law and Order rebounded a bit this week. NBC just needs to keep pumping their proven performers this week along with the new Mercy and Community. Mondays are so tough there's no reason to throw something into a death slot at this point. Law and Order can probably get back to near a 2.0 on Fridays and maybe challenge Ghost Whisperer. It will only pull a little over a 2.0 on Mondays at 9 and that's just not good enough for that night. Personally, NBC just needs to let it end along with Criminal Intent if they can't afford D'Onfrio. Move the few good characters left from each over to SVU and start to limit that some too by just shifting it to Sundays 10pm post-football season from here on out. I think this would give them a good solid crime drama in SVU and allow the other slots to go to new shows that can probably pull as good of numbers.
It's good to see Medium go up to a 2.0 in finals. While it dipped some in the audience at 9pm this week, it still remains very stable and probably an asset to CBS' lineup. Numb3rs, on the other hand, is just living a slow death right now.
Stargate Universe Beats Dollhouse For Second Straight Friday
New York, NY – October 12, 2009 – Maintaining Syfy’s ratings surge, the second season premiere of Sanctuary leaped 18% in Adults 18-49 and 7% in Adults 25-54 versus last year’s average, while grabbing nearly 1.9 million viewers (1.85) on Friday, October 9, at 10PM (ET/PT).
Sanctuary, starring Amanda Tapping and Robin Dunne, delivered nearly one million Adults 18-49 (946,000) — its second highest A18-49 delivery ever — along with 1.15 million Adults 25-54.
From 9-10PM (ET/PT), Stargate Universe improved on last week’s record setting performance (the highest franchise premiere mark in four years), by growing 22% in Adults 18-49 (1.37 million) and 13% in Adults 25-54 (1.49 million) – the best Stargate showing in these demos in four years – as well as garnering 2.4 million total viewers with a 1.8 HH rating.
For the second consecutive week, Stargate Universe bested FOX’s Dollhouse in total viewers and key demos head-to-head at 9PM (ET/PT).
I just wanted to say that honestly, I think all three shows have a chance of being picked up for another year.
I can definitely see Smallville making it to a tenth and FINAL season. As long as they use the 9th season to steer the show towards Clark becoming Superman. If not, they might as well give the show 15 seasons until he does!! hahaa.
I'm not a SPN fan. I've hardly ever watched it. My sister likes it though, so I'm sure she'd love a 6th season. I agree that the CW will probably keep it in the Thursday 9pm slot considering any other female show would be making numbers lower the The Beautiful Life against CSI & Grey's.
Now, for OTH, I definitely think the show could continue to an 8th season, if not possibly more seasons. I remember reading an article a few weeks ago, where the creator was talking about how the people behind the scenes at the CW (Dawn & company...) consider OTH a "new" show. The article was saying how they see the show continueing for more seasons, since the time jump re-invented the show.
And after watching tonight's episode, it clearly doesn't need to leave my screen anytime soon. OTH is doing great. I'm loving it. Even with the departure of Lucas & Peyton. Plus at the end of season 6, the actors signed on for 2 more seasons, which brings them to a season 8. Plus it's a great companion for GG and any other new show that they would pair with Gossip Girl would kill their Monday nights and kill Gossip Girl along with it. The CW just needs to learn how to promote and take advantage of their Monday night lineup. If only they would TRY to HELP OTH by promoting it and do positive stuff for the show, then maybe it would pull in some season 2 numbers, or close to it. I mean OTH's Season 4/Episode 10 on the CW pulled in 4+ million viewers (of course, that was when it was following Top Model on Wed's.) Anyhow, The CW could fix these Monday night ratings, if they would try. This time last year Monday was doing GREAT for The CW. Only they would manage to screw that up :/
Anyways, with that said. I see all shows getting a possible renewal.

Beckman also humorously characterized deciding the show's fate as a bit of no-win situation when it comes to dealing with Whedon's passionate fans.
"If you cancel it, you're an asshole; if you renew it and then don't put it back on, you're an asshole," he said. "I'm still paying for 'Terminator.' 'Dollhouse' has a small rabid fan base that in the world of social media seems bigger than it is. We gave them another season knowing full well we were going to burn in hell if we pulled it."
It's funny to see the Dollhouse and Terminator fanfreaks go after each other, when they're exactly the same type of person--needy, entitled, selfish, whiny, ungrateful, and totally lacking in class. Or taste.

At least my Twins still win the title for most beloved baseball team in the country! Very few baseball teams come close to the ratings the Twins pull on a regular basis for their home market. Now if only FSN would wake up and air all the games instead of dropping game 3 of a series all the time. So annoying I tell ya!
Obviously they just want to get it over with. The Sacred Whedon cannot be rescheduled, and this time they want to prove they gave him every chance. THEN axed him.
