remember, marc does fast nationals...in reality betty was much lower than survivor at the 8pm hour...
as for this night...what a disaster huh?
csi out-delivered greys in viewers should make me happy but the show got an all-time low this week in the demos (5.9) but whats more confusing is that greys also hit a low (8.3)...yet both shark and road did about the same...
it seems like the biggest shows last fall have all taken dives...
i honestly expected cbs to win in the demos last night due to betty's weak demos...but csi slipping so much caused cbs to fall further...ugh.
now im wondering how low cbs fridays will be...

No one can, but it's certainly nice to observe the present. When DH started dropping under 20, it hasn't recovered yet. The reason no one can jump to conclusions is that Grey's hasn't stuck itself in a true creative rut like DH has so it could still come back to the 22+ million life it had in the fall. Just going under the 20 mark sticks out.

Now this is the show I hope loses its novelty fast!

One of the more interesting nites I'm looking at with the upfronts is NBC Tuesday. Opportunity knocks in the fall to establish something, with FOX baseball, and CBS perhaps in disarray on the nite. It sets ups well for a female-slanting schedule. L&O CI figures to be out of the 9 slot, and SVU likely to stay at 10.
With so few true lead ins, NBC needs themes and compatibility. On whatever night it is, I wonder if a MEDIUM, ER, SVU combo has floated through the brain of their schedule makers?

It also puts Idol's much talked about slide into perspective as well.
Should CBS be concerned? Yes, of course, they have a number of shows on the downside of their life cycle. Still, given the demos we have been seeing the last few weeks, the 5.8 for CSI should not lead to a panic. Survivor’s, "down but not out," continues to win its hour in the demo. CSI and Shark (Shark Attack) remain a competitive second in their respective hours in the demo.
ABC should surge as Greys, DH and Lost approach their finals, but how much so, given the lower demo numbers all around, will be interesting to see.
CBS does need to have some success next fall with a few new shows if it is to remain number two in the demo.

They last went head-to-head on their collective 17th episode. Which was ages ago. Grey's got 27.394 million, CSI got 21.780
If ABC renews October Road it will just be another What About Brian. This show loses almost half of it's demo. I remember in the Fall when Shark lost about half of it's demo, everyone was attacking it. But now there is all this love for October Road?
People claim Marc has a CBS bias, but I think it is that people here have an anti-CBS bias.

And now it's just hard to ignore the fact that last night both shows aired new episodes and each scored under 20 million...furthermore CSI beating marginally Grey's .

Man...why in the world is Alec Baldwin on "The View?" Who cares and I think the only reason he is on there is to plug his book! He keeps on saying that he is tried of the attention this situation he is in gets, so if that is the case, then stay off the talk shows!! Sorry...ranting.
On another note...I am pleased with the ratings that Supernatural got last night. The show is staying consistent, which I a good thing.

You have the right idea, but the wrong conclusion. ER would be much stronger, as you suggest, if anyone was watching NBC earlier in the evening. So, the correct solution is to get rid of 30 Rock and Scrubs, then replace them with something that will attract some viewers to the channel. What ever happened to the days when NBC Thursday meant mainstream comedy rather than niche comedy?
I actually like Jack Donaghy's personality better than Alec's! Never thought that would be the case last fall...

I think maybe March 15 was the last time new eps aired head-to-head.
