I completely agree with you about AI. If the talent is there the viewers will be too. Hopefully AI can recover this season from Sanjaya-Gate.
In regards to OTH, good for CW for finally making a mark in the ratings. However, I read a comment earlier where someone said "take that Gossip Girl" This statement is exactly why CW cannot be sucessful. Too many niche viewers who don't look beyond the particular show they obsess over. The CW has a tricky situation. They keep programming scripted shows that "should" appeal to their viewers, but the viewers are so afraid if another show becomes popular that their show will be cancelled. Gossip Girl "should" have been a hit for CW. Reaper "should" have been a hit. I am a huge fan of ABC programming and typically I will test-drive a new show from them because there is a common theme in their programming. A lot of people are fans of CBS and their type of crime/forensic centric programming. It just seems like CW will never be able to build a core audience if they keep aiming for the demo they currently have.

It is quite spectacular what OTH is doing this year opposite stiff competition on FOX. The writing has been brilliant, the acting superb, and people keep tuning in..
As for Jericho, I am really disappointed. The fans got it back on the air, the episode last night was very good, and the ratings dropped. If people are going to work to save a show, the least they can do is watch it and convince friends to watch it too..

oth did remarkable yesterday considering AI and new big brother and biggest loser and ABC comedies. They did not face one repeat and pulled in 3.2 mill which is great for CW
Also they beat ABC in the demo for the 9pm hour. That is pretty big also
So what noun is Skeet Ulrich's character going to be shouting in the "season" finale of "Jericho" this year? Gosh, I hope it's not "Gold!" The bankruptcy rate is high enough without having to include thousands of thousands of "Jericho" fans who apparently never heard of the "fool and his money" adage.
P.S. Guys, instead of sending crates full of nuts, maybe you could have, I don't know, watched the show?
-- "Better Off Ted," Wednesdays at some time or another at some point or another in the near future. Because we can't all live in mansions and not ever work like the people on "Modern Family."
And how is Boston Legal not a loser? VERY BAD NUMBERS. VERY BAD DEMO. BAD VIEWERSHIP NUMBER. It wasn't even against American Idol!!! I know it improved quite a bit from the lead-in, pathetic Carpoolers, but the numbers are still. So. Bad. The demo was almost the same as OTH's and that show is on the CW.

If not for the strike, I would agree with you, but a lot of the fall shows are down significantly this spring. I think people knew there was a strike and once the big shows went into repeats, they figured all of them did. People have just stopped watching TV as much.
If BL (and the others that have dropped this spring) continue to bring in low numbers after all the shows come out with new episodes, then we can talk about canceling.
Perfectly stated. To the vast majority of TV viewers, shows that launched in the fall are all in repeats. All anyone has heard over the last few days is the writer's strike is over so in a few weeks new shows will start returning to the air. Most people wouldn't even consider BL being new last night. Holly is right, when things get back to normal if BL is not back up to normal viewing levels, then it's time for fans to worry.

Well, there's nothing wrong with OTH having the same demos as Boston Legal. OTH is an amazing show and will hopefully get even ghigher ratings in the coming weeks =D! It also beat Carpoolers in demos! Go OTH !!

OK so BL is now on life-support. It waits the lead-in to arrive to take it off the machines. Even if it returns to normal levels the fans have a lot to worry about

ABC may want to seriously reconsider the future of Boston Legal given how far it has dropped.
Well when your lead in drops 14 million what did we all expect? Even last year when Tuesdays collapsed, it had a much better lead in than it does now in Primetime which usually pulled around 6 million viewers.

I am a Jericho fan, but to make excuses like some secret plan by the network to destroy it is just dumb.

It's more of a family show so it should be on at 8PM-Sundays would probably be best.
I don't think Jericho fans have much right to complain about CBS's treatment of the show. The ratings justified cancelling it last year, but the network still decided to bring it back because of pressure from fans. CBS has holes to fill because of the writers strike, and that's one of the available timeslots.
All seven Season 2 episodes will air, regardless of the weak ratings. It didn't have much chance of a third season anyway.
