It's just that the shows we're supposed to discuss are mainly so BORING.

They can't help gravitating to a more interesting subject. They literally can't stop themselves. Big Grin

There's really no good excuse for Bionic Women losing over a million and a half in viewership. Surely NBC is looking over the numbers today.

NBC is blowing it with Bionic Woman (or at least what I've seen of it). It would be more competetive if it wasn't so poorly done. And Michele Ryan walks through her scenes wearing the same constipated look. I predict the numbers will continue to fall.

Til Death has been given many chances by Fox and people just aren't interested. The puny growth out of Back to You is negligible.

I don't see anything wrong with them. They are highly opinionated but respectful. Maybe they get tired of his smilie use? Razzer

I disagree... the show is struggling for sure but what else is going to work? the show had every critic applauding it and tons of buzz and it didnt open... what else can they do? If they cancel the show what else do you put in it's place? at some point the CW has to say it's not our lineup... it's us...

The bottom line is every network is stuck with this... if we cancel this what do we have to put in its place?

We have this 2-3M viewer difference between a hit and a failure... and I'd guess that's the closest that ratio has ever been...

No there hasn't. The debate has been between DSM and Big Shots, which you so handily left out of your post. Funny that.

I never said it wasn't talked about. I just haven't seen this great Pushing Daisies vs. DSM debate you seem to have been reading. I've seen PD vs. S60 and DSM vs. Big Shots. But I'm not surprised you avoided delving into that debate, because we all know your show loses in that matchup.

I thought it was dead as well. But, reading over some posts after mine, I think it might not be as dead as I thought.

I think Big Shots could be in more trouble.

It did perform better than Week 4 of The Nine, with a lead-in that had over five million fewer viewers and 2.8 less in the demo. That should be pleasing to you, since you're a big fan of following a timeslot's track record. As for the notion that it's in "Cane territory," are you one of those people who thinks the 18-49 demo doesn't matter?

In other news: NBC has to be really bumming about the bottom falling out for Bionic. I think people are finally realizing what a trainwreck that show is (unless it drastically improved since the first two eps... I admit I haven't seen the last two).

Life, meanwhile, only dropped around 500K viewers and zip in the demo (from a lead-in that bled 1.5 mil, 0.5 demo), is still about 50% better than the end of Kidnapped was doing, and is now retaining nearly 90% of its Bionic lead-in and 85% of its demo. For a show that is STILL getting very little promotion! I don't think the show is doing well or anything, but I can't imagine it would be on the immediate chopping block, all things considered. And it's still doing significantly better than Journeyman, that's for sure.

pisher is an instigator. He'll say things he knows push people's buttons because it is fun and it incites debate on the board. Love him or hate him, it is almost impossible to ignore him.

If he wasn't here, it would probably be necessary to invent him.

I have to say I 100% agree with everything you said about PD's episode 2. It was like eating fudge, after two servings I was sick of it's overly rich taste. In fact I was surprised it's third week didn't see a bigger drop off. But I did give episode 3 a chance and to my surprise I liked it again. Episode three was different, the whole over the top style was toned down a little, the characters became a little more complex as the girl, Chuck had to come to terms with someone dying in her place and I will give it another week to see where it goes.

Once the woman started singing in the pie shop I started thinking "maybe I won't watch this next week", and I didn't. Plus that dead/back alive woman is very annoying (to me, anyway).

I seems to me it's just a typical procedural show. It's really not that different in form from a show like Medium. Actually a very similar idea. Stylistically it's very different, but that fades rather quickly. Anyway, I don't care if it gets cancelled or not, but I'm done with it.

A little more fuel for the fire...

and Nets LOVE awards like the Emmys and Golden Globes.... Big Shots has zero chance of even being nominated at this point but DSM could pick up some noms...

Leave pisher alone. His comments are among the more intelligent here.

NBC has never given Life proper promotion. It's like they are expecting the show to fail or at least use it as a scapegoat to justify scheduling changes. If promoted, it could do much better in it's timeslot. NBC seems to not want to do that.

My guess is that they Power of 10 Wednesdays at 8 through December, than Amazing Race there in January. Maybe they will move Kid Nation to Saturdays to complete the run.

Power of 10 is a viable option I didn't consider. Of course, will Power of 10 really do better than a low 2ish in the demo against first run competition? I don't know? Maybe?

Maybe CBS will just leave KN on tto finish its run, and plug TAr or Power of 10 in for Winter/Spring?

Actually, there's a very effective means of doing precisely that. Why do you think I never respond to Dumont anymore?

Seriously, I do enjoy trashing shows I perceive as both bad and overpraised by people who are too easily gulled by pretentious hacks. It's not my favorite thing in the world, or my 100th favorite thing in the world, but it passes the time at work, before I can go do my favorite things.

I'll probably continue doing it here for quite a while, regardless of the personal comments that are directed at me. In fact, the more personal comments that are directed at me, the more frequently I tend to post. And the more certain people defend a show they like by saying "If you don't like it, you're stupid and tasteless!", the more inclined I am to poke fun at said show.

So maybe certain people need to rethink their strategy?

Wink
