Unfortunately, I watched Laughlin between these two. It was quite a roller coaster. Frowner

YIKES. So much for that. It looks like ER got quite a boost from all the rest of the junk in that slot, though.

21% decline for VL is shockingly good. I was expecting over 50%.

CBS probably has to see what it will do in its regular slot. When it scores what we all expect it to score this Sunday, the network can ready the hook.

Me too but on the other hand i was expecting more viewers to watch the first half hour. It seems that many people actually knew what was coming and they ran for their life away from CBS imediately after CSI finished

One of the most ridiculous things (and there were a lot of ridiculous things) is how they were showing previews of Sunday's ep starting around the fifteen minute mark of ep. 1, describing opening day at the casino. So the entire plot of episode 1, about getting money to open the casino, is completely ruined fifteen minutes in.

As for your question, it will get to Sunday night. It probably had to have like 30% retention for them to even consider yanking it this early.

My guess: Its 1st Sunday airing will get something around a 4.0 HH rating...after that it'll be gone .

Yes I also thought more people would tune in after CSI. A Lloyd Owen Melanie Griffith Musical just wasn't appealing.

Viva Laughlin was so bad it was funny. I honestly could not stop laughing. And say goodbye to Big Shots.

That was 21% for the sencond 1/2 hour. Meaning the few that turned in, 1 of 5 didn't stick around to see the ending.

VL was about a 58% drop from the CSI average, when it ended at 11pm.

So, I am looking forward to seeing the spin people are going to say today in regards to Big Shots/Dirty Sexy Money. How can anyone say that DSM is in trouble, or dead, or even on the bubble for Wed's performance when seeing what BS did last night, and how low it dipped at 10PM, against a much less competitive CBS program.

I love musicals, but I DESPISE the modern musical, which basically just cobbles together a lot of established song standards--a real musical has ITS OWN SONGS. It may still be bad, but at least it's bad on its own terms.

This is hardly the first show to try this format--anybody remember Rags to Riches, back in the 80's? Admittedly a lot less ambitious--and it ran a lot longer than VL is likely to, and longer than either deserved to.

Flight of the Conchords is the closest thing I've seen to a good musical series, and that's getting very low ratings. I don't know why anybody thought this was going to work. If people want over-the-top vocals, and people embarassing themselves musically, they only have to watch American Idol.

Not really, its up from the spring average. It is a little down from the season premiere, but is up from the past 2 weeks. It should stay in that 14.5 million viewer range for the fall season

Check out the ratings trend chart on the Survivor Thread
