Pushing Daisies is a huge disappointment. It dipped below 10 million much qicker than i expected.
Well done CM. Not that i care about the demos but in a few weeks i think CM will beat PP in demos also

It won't get axed. The retention is decent. I think last night's ep should be getting more exposure- perhaps tonight instead of crappy Big Shots.

Is there any positive news at all that came come from DSM? Anyone?

Still winning in the demo. This show is an acquired taste and is not for everyone. It should be okay.

Here we go again. The classic excuse :the show is not for everyone.
Really? I don't think you need more than one eye to watch a show
I tried to watch the second episode and my only wish was : has someone the power to make me dead during the show?

DSM may not be on very solid ground, Big Shots would get the axe way before DSM would.

Well it does hold a much greater percentage of PP's lead in (~75% of total viewers) than anything that has followed Grey's on Thursday. ABC is probably much more worried about Big Shots. October Road was considered by some to be a success because it managed to hold 60% of its leadin.

When people say "Oh it's not doing so badly, it'll be around a while", they're forgetting that it has crappy competition (particularly in the demo), and got HUGE promotion. It's unreal, the amount of money ABC spent on this show. And they sure as hell expected a better result than they got in return for it. Even if it doesn't fall any further. Which it will.

"Pushing Daisies" vs. "Studio 60:" Did "Studio 60" ever win its time period among A18-49 (after its first week)? Because the way I look at it, both shows have gone up against an older-skewing, highly-rated franchise (Deal or No Deal and CSI Miami, respectively). One has won -- one has lost.

I know it's early in the season, but...still.

American Idol is watched by a small fraction of the U.S. population. NO show is for everybody. Well, maybe Ed Sullivan, but those days are GONE baby. Wink

I tried to watch a bit last night, and I just have this feeling a lot of people were thinking the same thing--and won't be back next week.

It's is different from most Big Three network dramas, give it that--and the novelty factor will keep it afloat awhile. Before it gets waterlogged. Wink

I've red that PD is the third most expensive show (dollars/episode) on air this season.
So ABC will take that into account also

Considering the fact they ABC re-shot almost all of their pilots expect Pushing Daisies, they really didn't spend that much money on promotion if you add in what Warner Brothers would've spent on re-shooting it.

And ABC's not paying for the show. Warner Brothers is.

Also every other new show on TV is experiencing the same thing with their ratings, I'm going to go with the fact that 'Pushing Daisies' is one of the only new shows to keep the same, high numbers for the 18-49 demo.

Why are people panicking over DSM? It actually had a bit of an uptick from last week, and its retention is pretty solid. I wouldn't count on a season two yet, but it's hardly on the chopping block.
