Gasp! Could the barracuda, pit bull, "Thrilla from Wasilla" hockey mom Sarah Palin be guesting on Desperate Housewives? According to the New York Post today, Marc Cherry wants to put the former veep nominee in the season finale.
The return of American Idol in January dictates that House be Moves to Mondays (will help make that night stronger) and BONES to Thursdays (same Reason).
FOX, rightly so, wants to help two freshmen shows as leadouts of AI. Fringe will stay on Tuesdays and a new show will premire out of AI on Wednesdays.

That's likely not going to happen. Have you seen the ratings of NBC's other dramas?
NBC made a mistake giving LJ the Wednesday at 10 PM spot, causing viewers to flee. And after it came in early, the ratings are much higher than what LJ could produce. If NBC gave L&O a stronger lead in, its ratings would improve.

Well, the two comedies have taken ahit the last three weeks.
2 weeks ago, GU was out as the Obama ad took the 8pm slot and Old christine aired at 8:30.
Last week, they had to go head-to-head with DWTS, which was move from tuesday because of the election.
This week, the had the CMAs to deal with.
3 Weeks ago, both shows were above 7.5 million viewers and had about a 2.5 demo rating. They had been climbing, slowly, each week since their premieres.
but having said all that, they cant survive against AI, so Sundays need to be in their future.

Looking at this, CBS' Wednesday comedies are way too low in the demos and viewers. Look at the demo and viewer jump when CM comes on. Almost double. It was a good experiment but the comedies need to be moved for something that can pull in better numbers. CM would be even more impressive if it had a better lead in.
As for Bones, if it can keep its numbers, it is absolutely going to dominate Thursdays at 8 PM. 10.86 million and 3.5 in the demo is great for it. If I were ABC, I'd move UB out of the way. It's struggling right now and Bones will kill it.
That always seems to be the response when someone states that a specific NBC show should be let go.
At this rate, NO NBC series would be cancelled becuase, "Have seen the ratings of the other shows???"

Was there something specific (cast changes, etc...) that happened to Law & Order post strike last season? It seems the show had a major ratings dropoff in April/May that has continued through to this season.

I hope not. I would like to see her appear in something that is actually respectable like LAW & ORDER. If it worked for Fred Thompson it could work for her.
I'm not a regular viewer, but I think they have two new detectives (over the last season) and a new DA.

Departure of Jesse Martin (Det. Green) and a diminished role for Sam Waterston (Jack McCoy)? Of course...I have to admit, I think the show may have had it's run. I used to be a diehard fan. I much preferred it in the Ben Stone days, but I handled the transition when Michael Morriarity left, as I do like Sam Waterston. BUT...I think it has been done to death, between the long run and the overusage on TNT. Heck, many nights, it is all that is on TNT in the prime time hours, and how many holiday marathons did they run. It may be time for it to bow out gracefully, as it really may be time. The new ADAs do not mesh well, I hate that Jack isn't on much, the detectives we had so long are gone, and it really is like a new show. I don't think I am in the minority in this thinking.

Sam Waterston debuted in his diminished role when the show first came back on the air during the strike -- but Martin's departure was mid-season. Too bad...the combination of Martin and Jeremy Sisto (IMHO) gave the show its most enjoyable detective team since Briscoe left.
I don't like Anthony Anderson, personally...he adds nothing to the show for me, and doesn't play nearly as well off Sisto as Martin did (and vice-versa).
L&O may not be as solid as you think. 2 weeks of 2.2 demos isn't that hot. While its lead-in is weak one can argue that The Office has a weak lead-in yet still manages to grow substancially.

You probably didn't mean this as a joke, but thanks for the laugh none the less. Perhaps all actors should stick with serious roles so they can go into politics? Maybe such serious roles as Conan the Barbarian, Love Boat, Bedtime for Bonzo, Saturday Night Live, The Dukes of Hazzard or Sony and Cher Show made all the difference to voters taking politicians seriously.
