-Ratings Breakdown: It was a Tuesday of shared dominance, with CBS the most-watched network and NBC No. 1 among adults 18-49.
In season-premiere news, a two-hour installment of the CW’s Beauty and the Geek kicked-off with a disappointing (and last-place) 3.34 million viewers and a 1.7 rating/5 share among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m. The most recent season of Beauty and the Geek opened with a healthier 4.90 million viewers and a 2.2/ 6 among adults 18-49 on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007. Comparably, that was a loss of 1.56 million viewers and 23 percent in the demo. If you keep in mind that most of the competition was repeats, you can expect more erosion once the new season officially begins next week.
A two-hour edition of NBC’s The Biggest Loser averaged 7.90 million viewers and a 3.3/ 9 among adults 18-49 from 8-10 p.m., building in each half-hour as follows:
8:00 p.m. Viewers: 6.50 million (#3), A18-49: 2.7/ 9 (#1) 8:30 p.m. Viewers: 7.05 million (#3), A18-49: 3.1/ 9 (#1) 9:00 p.m. Viewers: 9.00 million (#1), A18-49: 3.8/10 (#1) 9:30 p.m. Viewers: 9.06 million (#1), A18-49: 3.8/ 9 (#1)
As a reminder, The Singing Bee will step into the 8 p.m. half-hour on Oct. 2, leading into The Biggest Loser from 8:30-10 p.m. A repeat of Law & Order: SVU capped off the evening for NBC with 6.00 million viewers (#3) and a first-place 2.2/ 6 among adults 18-49.
CBS’ older skewing Power of 10 was the most-watched show at 8 p.m., with 7.76 million viewers. But it finished fourth among adults 18-49, with a 1.9/ 6 in the demo. That led into the season-finale of Big Brother 8 (Viewers: #2, 8.51 million; A18-49: #2, 3.3/ 9), followed by a repeat of NCIS (Viewers: #1, 7.85 million; A18-49: #2, 1.9/ 5) from 9-11 p.m. One of those dastardly Donatos had to unfortunately win, and in a vote of 5 to 2, “Evel” Dick was awarded with the $500,000 grand prize. Whiny Daniele took home $50,000, still not a bad cash pay-off for 81 days in the Big Brother house. Now that the season is over, please media…I beg of you: forget about these two!
ABC opened with back-to-back episodes of Just For Laughs (Viewers: #2, 7.00 million; A18-49: #2t, 2.0/ 6), followed by two-hour special, Elvis: Viva Las Vegas at a lackluster 6.38 million viewers and a 1.8/ 5 among adults 18-49 from 9-11 p.m. Fox aired repeats of House (Viewers: #4, 5.96 million; A18-49: #2t, 2.0/ 6) and the pilot of K-Ville (Viewers: #4, 4.87 million; A18-49: #4, 1.7/ 4).

Love him or hate him Dick played a stategy never used before on the show and it worked for him as even in the end..the jury-all of which were his targets respected the strategy and voted in the majority for him to win.
My only fear is next season some poser will try and emerge as the "new" Dick. There is only one Dr. Will, One Janelle and one Dick Donato...clones will not be welcome or last very long in the house.
Thank god Dick has control of the big money. It's the only way to ensure Dani stays in his life. It was clear from the Sunday show she was going to take the money and freeze him out. He was clearly hurt when she suggested seperate trips to Europe. Now she's going to have to stay in his good graces especially after she blows her 50K on toys for Nick.
I hope some of the houseguests like Jen turn up in other venues.
If this is any sign of where the CW is headed this season...things aren't looking up. Especially considering the CW premiered BATG the week before the season officially started, I'm really disappointed with 3.3 million. The week-before strategy worked well for many already-established WB shows to get big ratings. I do think BATG will perk up a little, but these ratings against such little original programming is not good news.
I think tonight's premiere numbers for Gossip Girl will tell us a lot about the CW's fall potential. It's got the buzz, hype, I've heard underclassmen girls all over my campus talking about it this week. If numbers are under 4.5 million then my CW expectations for 2007-08 will change drastically....and lower.
It is the second half of September, though. And the official start of the season is a week later this year...last year it was 9/18. People are now excitedly counting down to season premieres...repeat-mode is definitely not prominent anymore.

I'm most worried about BatG's decline for Reaper's sake. But maybe a lot of people will find it independent of lead-in, as was clearly the case with K-Ville two nights ago.
Could it be the CW is banking a little too much on reality shows to help try and improve the network this season? It will be intersting to see how the CW performs tonight.

Hey folks, it is so NICE to see the chat room come alive. We are going to explode next week and yesterday was our one year anniversary. Did you all listen to my fall 2007 prime-time webcast?
