What you are predicting again and again is that PD will get canceled. So, you are on the record.
You say that a lot, you know. Just about everything you say about me and PD is a warmed-over version of something else you've said many times in the past.
So evidently it's okay for PD fans to say the same thing, again and again and again. As fewer and fewer people actually watch the show. And yes, that's on the record--Nielsen's.

Thanks for the info, Travis. I wonder if Dumont was taking that into account? It hurts CBS the most. I wonder if ABC will lobby to get Wednesday included as a 'special' night next year as well.

Are you saying that this thursday night is not include in the november sweeps ?
You know that's a good question... it must be, so maybe it's included in time-period averages, but I believe that special airings (i.e. when a show airs outside it's normal timeslot) are not supposed to be included in program averages (though obviously the networks know what the ratings were, the advertisers know, the affiliates, etc).

I think Travis is referring to whether or not a Thursday number is included in the season roll-up for a series as a "regular" or "special" airing. According to my understanding of Nielsen rules, a holiday airing doesn't alter a series to "special"; only an out-of-time period airing (like when CBS flips Cold Case and Shark for one evening) or a special length episode (ie. a 90-minute or 2-hour episode) qualifies as "special".
All programs aired during regular primetime hours are included in Sweep roll-ups; the only exception that I factor out is the portion of Sunday nights for NBC where Football Night in America airs without ads (and which Nielsen considers as 'unrated'), and that boosts the NBC weekly average up just a bit.

ABC has marked all programs that aired on Thanksgiving night as "Specials" in their Weekly Ratings press release and thus excluding them from their program/time-period averages.
So, the 'specials' don't count towards an individual show's season long rating's average, but the 'specials' still do count toward the November sweeps total?
