I miss the yearly airing of the original Home Alone on NBC. They had a nice tradition going there for a few years, but just gave up on it.
Why not an original made for TV Home Alone type of movie? That could bring good numbers. I don't understand why the networks have pretty much gave up on producing made for TV movies.
The last thing we need is ANOTHER bad Home Alone Movie. 3 & 4 were horrible and did horrible.
TV movies were given up because of inconsitant ratings. Some did well, while others didn't. Plus, I would suspect, costs may have played a part in its demise.
BIG time OUCH at October Road. Who's bright idea was it to air the season premiere last night? Or should I say... Sneak preview.
This show is the next What About Brian.
Interesting that Grey's was only a half million behind CSI(and CSI fell at the half while Grey's grew). Looks like CSI in particular was just as affected by the holiday as ABC was(and in contrast to Wednesday).
I thought The Incredibles would do better considering the holiday and the family theme to it.

Nope. They ordered six last year and were only going to air four, but then when it did better than expected they pulled Notes from the Underbelly and aired the last two. So these were all produced this season.

Home Alone 3 was OK(though much worse than 1 and 2) but Home Alone 4 sucked. I watch 1 and 2 every year still today, 3 when I feel like it, but avoid 4 like the plague.

Grey's did a lot better than I was expecting... based on the Wed. numbers, I thought CSI would slaughter it in viewers and likely eke out the demo. I'm pretty shocked that viewers were that close.
As bad as the OR numbers look, it's still around 45% retention in demo. Which, sadly, is not bad as Grey's lead-outs go, though it is out of a diminished Grey's. Half-hour drop is humongous, obviously. I don't know how much better you can expect with a Thanksgiving season premiere of a show that had only six weeks late last season and was never rerun, especially when it's dubiously promoted as a "sneak preview." OR just hasn't had time to become the kind of show people will give up Thanksgiving for.
Will be interesting to see what happens with SW, Notes, and OR on Monday. That night could really be a bomb.
Hold onto your hats..ABC is about to go into an unprecedented nosedive.
---the loss of Dancing on Monday and Tuesday for several months..replaced by the questionable Monday lineup of SW, Underbelly and OR; and CMafia on Tuesday.
---The continued erosion of Wednesday -- particularly at 8 and 10 ---The emergence of CBS on Wednesday and Friday ---American Idol returning with a vengeance Tuesday and Wednesday ---with the exception of LOST (only 8 episodes because of strike .. if they even air) very little bench strength fo ABC to counteract the above.
As I said, real problems for ABC and Mr. McPherson. They're looking at 3rd place in the demo for sure.

The CSI Episode wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. It was "filler". I think they tried to capture last season's Lab Tech episodes with another, but Just Missed with this one. It had its funny moments though.
ABC Holds Lead Over CBS in A18-49 After 22 Days of the 2007 November Sweep
With only six days remaining in the November Sweep, ABC continues to hold a 0.2 lead over CBS in the young adult demo with a first place 3.6 A18-49 average. CBS is second with an average 3.4 in A18-49, while NBC and FOX are tied in fourth place with a 3.1 averages in A18-49. The CW is in fifth with a 1.1 in A18-49 with MyNetworkTV bringing up the rear with its 0.4 in A18-49.
In households and viewership, CBS has a comfortable lead over ABC with NBC in third, FOX fourth, The CW trailing in fifth and MyNetworkTV bringing up the rear in sixth.
On a year-over-year basis, FOX and MyNetworkTV are the only networks consistently showing year-over-year improvement from the first day of the Sweep. The other four networks are mostly down in that 15% territory which is being widely blamed on time-shifted viewing. The most concerning year-over-year declines are being experienced by NBC and The CW, which are both losing about a fifth to a quarter of their demo, households and viewers from last November.

C'mon -- this is a ratings forum. OR got lousy ratings. It's probably ABC's fault for airing it on Thanksgiving, but it's numbers just weren't good. And Marc gets paid to express his opinions, whether you agree with them or not.

What are you talking about? Marc didn't "insult" October Road in any way; he just mentioned it had a terrible return (in other words: the ratings sucked compared to last year's, which is true). And it IS Marc's job to comment on ratings.

Uh, Commenting and reporting on TV is Marc's JOB. He Gets paid for this.
What exactly did you expect from this forum, about TV and Ratings????
BTW how is "It was a terrible return, in particular, for October Road." insulting????

I'm clearly in the minority but i liked even the 4th HA movie. But i wasn't talking about a HA 5 made for TV movie I was talking about a family comedy movie. With a funny story and some decent names in the cast the nets could get decent numbers. If Shrek does really well i bet we'll see some new cartoon specials in the future.
