-Yesterday’s Losers (Excluding Repeats):
Everybody Hates Chris (CW), Aliens in America (CW), The Game (CW)

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
Led by the strength of Desperate Housewives, ABC dominated Sunday with an advantage over the No. 2 network (CBS in total viewers; Fox among adults 18-49) of 3.14 million viewers and one full rating point in the demo.

CBS granddaddy 60 Minutes won the 7 p.m. hour in total viewers (9.65 million), with a fourth-place finish among adults 18-49 (1.4 rating/5 share). First in the demo was the first hour of an expanded edition of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on ABC (2.3/ 7), which finished second in total viewers with 7.11 million.

Also airing from 7-8 p.m. was NBC’s Dateline (Viewers: #3, 6.87 million; A18-49: #3, 1.5/ 5), repeats of Fox’s King of the Hill (Viewers: #4, 3.20 million; A18-49: #2, 1.5/ 5) and The Simpsons (Viewers: #4, 4.65 million; A18-49: #2, 2.2/ 7), and a repeat of America’s Next Top Model on the CW (Viewers: #5, 1.02 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 2).

The regularly scheduled portion of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition finished first from 8-9 p.m., with 12.04 million viewers and a 3.9/10 among adults 18-49. Also running in the hour was Fox’s combination of The Simpsons (Viewers: #2, 7.69 million; A18-49: #1, 3.6/10) and King of the Hill (Viewers: #2, 6.53 million; A18-49: #2, 3.0/ 8), the season-finale of CBS’ Big Brother 9 (Viewers: #3, 6.65 million; A18-49: #3, 2.3/ 6), a repeat of USA drama Monk on NBC (Viewers: #4, 5.77 million; A18-49: #4, 1.0/ 3), and CW duo Everybody Hates Chris (Viewers: #5, 1.28 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 1) and Aliens in America (Viewers: #5, 1.04 million; A18-49: #5, 0.4/ 1). While the ratings were not exactly stellar for Big Brother this time around (don’t shoot the messenger, folks), that certainly does not mean I will miss the upcoming summer season, which begins on Sunday, July 13. As for last night, congratulations to bug-eyed Adam Jasinski.

ABC’s Desperate Housewives at 9 p.m. was the top-rated show of the evening, with 16.21 million viewers and a 5.8/14 among adults 18-49. But compared to one year earlier (Viewers: 17.17 million; A18-49: 6.8/17 on April 29, 2007), that was a decline of 960,000 viewers and 15 percent among adults 18-49. CBS’ Cold Case (Viewers: #2, 11.48 million; A18-49: #3, 2.7/ 6) was also worthy of accolades, with growth out of lead-in Big Brother of 4.83 million viewers and 17 percent among adults 18-49.

Also airing from 9-10 p.m. was Fox’s animated Family Guy (Viewers: #3, 8.49 million; A18-49: #2, 4.3/10) and American Dad (Viewers: #3, 6.73 million; A18-49: #2, 3.0/ 8), a repeat of USA drama Psych on NBC (Viewers: #4, 3.44 million; A18-49: #4, 1.0/ 2), and CW sitcoms The Game (Viewers: #5, 1.55 million; A18-49: #5, 0.6/ 1) and a repeat of Girlfriends (Viewers: #5, 1.39 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 1). Worth noting for Family Guy was growth of a hefty 43 percent among adults 18-49 out of King of the Hill.

Must see ABC drama Brothers & Sisters dominated at 10 p.m., with 11.55 million viewers and a 4.0/10 among adults 18-49. If you happened to miss last night’s episode (the best, I think, of the series to-date), it is now available at abc.com. Emmy voters, take note!

Rounding off the 10 p.m. hour was a repeat of Showtime drama Dexter on CBS (Viewers: #2, 6.53 million; A18-49: #2, 2.0/ 5) and a repeat of NBC’s Law & Order: SVU (Viewers: #3, 6.46 million; A18-49: #3, 1.8/ 5. Too bad these cable repeats have not fared better on the broadcast networks.

The CW should do someting next season, becuae these numbers are just pathetic. The ANTM repeat doing 1.02 million and a 0.5 in the demo, I can understand. But EHC is actually funny, and I believe it premiered on UPN 2 seasons ago with almost 7 million viewers. And now it can barely crack the 1 million mark sometimes. It's just horrible to see the these numbers. Their doing something wrong, because the show doesn't deserve these ratings. Escpecially for an original.

Marc, did you watch the same episode of Brothers and Sisters that I did? I thought it was bad. Very bad. For a show that had such a great first season, season two has been steadily getting worse. If this is headed in the direction I think it is, I don't think I'll be sticking around for season three.

And people will blame this on the strike, but it was down from last season before the strike as well. For all the talk about how DH was back, people are less interested every year. Marc Cherry has the right idea when he says it should end with S7--it can probably make it that far.

ABC: It's interesting how healthy EM:HE can't do much better than AFV in that 7pm hour. That's just a tough hour, i think. DH rebounded a little, which is a *slightly* positive sign for ABC.

CBS: Cold Case is still on track to have 1 more season.

NBC: Not a player... again.

Im shocked that a show about unfaithful wives has lasted that long.

I'm glad to see Cold Case finally bouncing back. They had a great episode last night, and for a procedural, this show offers something a little different, with a blend of crime and sentimentality.
Desperate Housewives however can't catch a break. Can't blame the viewers for running for the hills though. This season is just awful!
Shame about AiA. It's definitely the best new comedy this season (and the best show on CW's sked), but no one watches it!

I assume you mean Justin and Rebecca potentially hooking up? Truthfully, I would prefer she remain a Walker. But this is quite a twist!

DH just does not have "it" anymore. And Gabrielle has become totally unbearable.
