I think when a show declines as badly as GG has, and they try a desperate gimmick like that to bring them back, it only works briefly--fact is, if they actually do get Luke & Lorelei back together, they'll be lucky to get the ratings up for two weeks.
I completely agree - once I decide to stop watching a show, I never go back to it.
But you seem to have completely written off Medium as a competitor.

Hey--maybe they've been going about this VM thing all wrong! Kristen Bell can play younger than her actual age--why not older?
Just slap some old-age makeup on her, move the show 40-50 years to the future, and set it in a gated retirement community. She's still solving lame mysteries, and she's just as spry as ever. "Veronica Mars: The Retirement Years".
At least the aerie girls seem to be gone from Gilmore Girls. Did their disappearance coincide with Lauren Graham's producer credit? If so, we should all send her flowers.

Isn't that kind of like Murder She Wrote? Wasn't that show a hit for years? It might just work!
While Medium dropped 2 million viewers against Lost last week, it still pulled in over 8.0 million viewers. I would call that a competitor in the 10:00 p.m. hour.
It would be better on Monday nights, but it seems to be holding on okay on Wednesdays for now.
I see... we have about another 3 months to hear endless speculation regarding VM's fate despite the obvious. Then we have another year or so to hear from the Marsies how stupid it was for VM to be canceled. After that we will just see the occasional irate note regarding how poor a decision it was - and some will blame Marc because he didn't support the show. Marc will be shunned by the Marsies for 2 years. They will temporarily forget their hatred upon prospect of a Veronica Mars movie. Unfortunately, there were no backers with any money and the project will be shelved and then Marc will be blamed once again for not mortgaging his home to invest.

Well, don't forget that Dawn Ostroff will make up excuses to try and keep it. For Season 1 it was it needed a chance so give it another year, when season 2 failed it was we will try it with Gilmore Girls and it will be great, and now it's season 3, and it has Gilmore Girls, I am sure Ms.Ostroff will think of something to keep it around. You see she seems to perfer he personal desire over the network's interest. And as long as the very small yet vocal fanbase of veronica mars bugs them about it she just might get what she wants. Anyway Marc, you said you know Dawn, I am not sure what that means and how often you speak with her but based on whatever time you have spent with her do you think she will try and keep it?

Will they lobby for Kristen Bell to appear on 'Psychic Restaurant Medium'?

No. The show is a complete ratings failure and it has had more than ample time to find itself, which it has not done. All summer they kept saying Gilmore Girls would be the best possible lead-in the show could ever have, and that did not work.
VM is over. A show with this much critical acclaim should not be scoring original ratings in the mid 2 million range.

Only if the show gets sold to the CW.
But unfortunately, Kristen spends the next year hanging with the wrong crowd and spends the following year in rehab. She gets an intervention from Whitney Houston and that is when she starts to lobby for someone to invest in her movie.
