-Ratings Breakdown: Minus American Idol, Fox still continues to dominate on Wednesday, with another two-hour edition of the addictive So You Think You Can Dance at 9.31 million viewers and a 3.5 rating/11 share from 8-10 p.m. Take a look at the half-hour breakdown:
So You Think You Can Dance (Fox) 8:00 p.m. Viewers: 8.36 million, A18-49: 3.2/11 8:30 p.m. Viewers: 9.09 million, A18-49: 3.4/11 9:00 p.m. Viewers: 9.91 million, A18-49: 3.8/11 9:30 p.m. Viewers: 9.86 million, A18-49: 3.8/10
CBS finished second overall in total viewers and third among adults 18-49 as a result of The Price Is Right (Viewers: #2, 7.04 million; A18-49: #4, 1.6/ 5), a repeat of the underrated Criminal Minds (Viewers: #2, 8.22 million; A18-49: #4, 1.6/ 5), and a repeat of CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 9.16 million; A18-49: #2, 2.2/ 6). NBC was on the map care of game six of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals (Detroit at Pittsburgh) at 7.02 million viewers (#3) and a 3.0/ 9 among adults 18-49 (#2) in prime-time, which is a vast improvement over the year-ago game five match-up. Coming up next week on NBC: the debut of reality/competition Celebrity Circus at 9:30 p.m., featuring Christopher “Peter Brady” Knight. Mama Carol’s son is in the circus!
Elsewhere, there was little of note on ABC with its combination of a repeat of Wife Swap (Viewers: #4, 5.12 million; A18-49: #3, 1.7/ 5), a repeat of Supernanny (Viewers: #4, 6.01 million; A18-49: #3, 2.1/ 6) and another burn-off episode of canceled Men in Trees (Viewers: #3, 5.25 million; A18-49: #3, 1.4/ 4). And the CW capped off the evening with a repeat of America’s Next Top Model (Viewers: #5, 1.27 million; A18-49: #5, 0.5/ 1), which contrary to what the network says does not fare well in repeats, and Farmer Wants a Wife (Viewers: #5, 1.94 million; A18-49: #5, 0.7/ 2), which managed to build by 670,000 viewers and 40 percent among adults 18-49.
Dance fever continues to burn bright as we cross into the summer months.
Tonight is the most interesting post season night so far. Can't wait to see if SWINGTOWN (which I've been waiting forever to see) or FEAR ITSELF will emerge as...a both hits (as far as summer ratings go) or if one will dominate over the other.
I'm just happy to have some fresh content since it will be months before we see some of TV's best...LOST, 24, SARAH CONNORS, AMAZING RACE and PRISON BREAK to name a few.
My guess is that Swingtown will come out looking better. It has CSI as its leadin.
Fear Itself, perhaps the better of the 2 shows, has the very Last Comic Standing as its leadin tonight.

What are the chances of last nights NHL Stanley Cup game out performing tonights Game #1 of the NBA Finals?

Lakers and Celtics. You can't get better than that. For those of us (like myself) who grew up watching the Celtics-Lakers Finals in the '80's, this is Must See TV.

Kinda hard to think of a number since the NBA Filans have been horrible since the Lakers were in it last time. I say it will get 14-16mil viewers. Maybe more if it's a close game and a little less if it's a blow out.
Glad to see SYTYCD hold up with last years numbers. It's the best dance show on TV by far. I wish AI would get more honest judges on their show or mix it up like the way SYTYCD does. Brings freshness to the comments instead of that was da bomb or you look beautiful tonight.
I wonder if the Penguins would of tied up the cup series, what a game 7 numbers would of been. This might be the series that brings Hockey back to America. Good numbers for game 6, but NBA finals will kill it.

This is the third time the show has aired on CW and it has also been airing on MTV. After re-airing the show that many times, what would you expect?
CW should just stick in FWAW repeats at 8, leading into new episodes at 9. Give ANTM repeats a break. Where is 13 on their lineup?
NBA Finals is going to be huge in the ratings. All of the buzz tonight is on the matchup. I wouldn't be surprised if it doubles both FI and Swingtown's numbers.
