Yep. CW was about on par with yesterday's (Wednesday's) numbers which were deemed to be a failure.

I agree with you that it was a good night for CW, though.

and did anyone see this?

The real difference is one of expectations. ANTM is usually far stronger then this, as is PSG doll reruns. So it was deemed, disappointing.

SN on the other hand has often been said to survive solely off the lead in of Smallville.

So what does it do on a 8pm hour with more competition then normal, it out performs the typical Smallville rerun. And without a lead it manages to get its 2nd highest ratings. Thus its considered an impressive feat.

In the same way that OTH has been for when it gets over 3 million with repeat lead in.

Don't Forget the Lyrics was a 'winner' even before American Idol was added to Thursday night? Should it now be deemed a loser simply because it ONLY went up by a few million viewers over its previous season high? And again I ask, what would FOX put in that timeslot right now instead?

When they say that LOST came in 3rd best for DVR'ing, I am sure that they meant 3rd best for the week's worth of data they were looking at.

So...Hooray! Lost got more DVR viewers than a bunch of repeats? That's like bragging that you won a race against a guy on crutches.

Is it fair to say that it was 'without a lead'?
I did say that CW did well last night. I just pointed out that it did no better than the night before.

While this site references 3 million new vieweres, it given a final Live+7 viewer number of 17.7million. So, it added roughly 1.56million viewers over the numbers we get here each day. The other (about half) of the 'new' viewers were viewers that were already counted.
Some sites look at the DVR number as those that DID NOT view the program live.

Oru final numbers here are Live+Same Day. So be careful when looking at ANY timeshifted numbers and know where their starting point is for "LIVE" and "TIME SHIFTED"

When was DFTL a winner? It is the weakest link on the Thursday lineup and Bones and House repeats do better than it ever did on Friday.

You asked what FOX could place there to get a season high and thus what you consider a "winner" and I replied with almost anything. Idol is such a huge draw that even with 50% retention, almost all of their programs (with the possible exception of House) would have season highs and thus be a "winner". So pick a show. Place anything there to get a season high.

There is an episode of K-Ville on the shelf.

On a much, much more serious note, there are only two more episodes of Idol on Thurs at 8pm. Next week will have DFTL leading out, and the week after will be an ep of New Amsterdam. So I guess he's right that DFTL won't have the post-Idol Thursday slot for long!

That was my point. A large number of people incorrectly take those reported DVR numbers and claim them as 'new viewers' and act as if they can be added to the data we receive here. Just ask Chimera, he does it that way and even tells people that they are wrong when they try to correct him on his error.

Sorry I meant no original lead in and not a rerun of Smallville (which so far this year scores higher then any other rerun on the CW). And that is its highest repeat.

Its also why I listed expectations agains't prior performance. Which is a huge factor in judging how shows did.

YES

For cops, that means about an additional 6-7 million viewers sampled the show, that normally dont watch it to begin with.

There is a little difference between when an established show follows a Mega Hit and when a new show follows a hit.

Cops getting 12-13 million would be great.
House getting 12-13 million would be horrible.
Bones getting 12-13 million would be good
The Simpsons getting 12-13 million would be OK

Cute answer. Unfortunately, some people do take 'spoiler info' and use it to try and form statements where they can later claim they were right about something. Hopefully that wasn't K-Ville's intent and that it is just coincidence.

Marc has put it on his winner's list for Thursdays. It is there because FOX has improved greatly in the timeslot vs. last year.

That isn't what I asked. You disparraged DFtL, so I asked what FOX should put there instead.

Has anyone seen the 'most DVR'ed' list for that week? What 2 shows beat Lost? Survivor, Grammys, Idol?

It was a good night for CW. I think it should prod them to move Supernatural into an 'anchor' position next season. Given the American Idol competition last night, the Supernatural fans should even need to worry about CW moving Supernatural to Monday(DwtS) or Tuesday(AI).
