When mushu said 'numbers' he probaby meant DEMO as well.

Well I was talking viewers. Demo limits the numbers even more. I believe only American Idol pulls Greys-like numbers consistently in the demo. Desperate Housewives does pretty well.

Apart from that, SVU does not belong on the list.

Its reruns might triple GA reruns but its originals are in range of 12-13mm.
You're right. I was thinking SVU pulled in closer to 15 million on Originals, back in the fall.

It was doing that up til about February of last season.

And I'm pretty sure mushu was talking about scripted, but for unscripted you can't count sporting events, and MoT is completely dependent on its AI lead-in, and has not stabilized yet. Just check out how it does this Monday if you don't believe me -- an episode that's been hugely hyped, and I don't think it will come close to what it does post-Idol. And its 15 million it's at now is still below Grey's level in any case.
Sunday Night Football is a regularly scheduled program, on for 17 weeks in the fall.

It has more episodes per year than LOST does now.

Why is Survivor an Honorable Mention instead of a winner? It held up pretty well against AI.

THANK YOU, mushu! Tv-aholic's claims annoyed me big time, because they were simply not true.

And WOW, Lost really did pretty darn well! I was expecting it to dip further from the previous week, but it held firm against some fierce competition. And what's even more amazing? It has virtually no lead-in whatsoever and it still did so great.

And whoever said that the lead-in doesn't make any difference to Lost's numbers... who do you think you're kidding? I think there's a MASSIVE difference between a 3-million-lead-in and an 18-million-lead-in. I don't understand ABC's insistence to put repeats of Lost as the lead-in. That just doesn't work and it's dragging the numbers.

Also, I can't believe some people are not impressed with Lost building 200-300% from it's lead-in everytime.

ETA: NCIS is for old people: the viewership is like 18 million whereas the demo rarely goes above 4. Very old-skewing.

Well, then look at mushu's response about it -- it is very dependent on the actual match up, sometimes doing really well, around 20 million, and sometimes doing poorly, around 10 million. I don't think the question is what show can, on occassion, pull in Grey's numbers, but what show, can consistently pull in Grey's numbers, week in and week out.

If you put a lot of stock in lead ins, than it might be impressive.

This percentage of audience "thing" is a non issue. Its about the numbers, not percentages, right?

Well, oh my gosh, let's put it this way. Lost builds like 8-9 million viewers from it's lead-in per week. Don't you think that's impressive?

No. Likes some one else posted. it will get its viewers no mater what its lead in is. It is not a lead in dependent show.

Ewwwww... those old people. TV is for the young because old people should be out playing shuffleboard and not home watching NCIS.

Agreed on "% of audience" is overrated.

The only caveats would be that a show like NCIS might have a higher average age even within 18-49 and with that less 18-34.

That crack of Simon's was simply horrible. That wasn't his usual nasty-funny; it was just nasty. And I think I know why: if you saw the "chair" episode last week, Colton and Keith, the nerdy guy with glasses, were the last two guys left. So they both rode the elevator up together, and Colton was told he was staying, and Keith was told he was going. At that point, Simon said emphatically that he was not in agreement with "Randaula" (as Lisa de Moraes calls the other two judges in the Washington Post). That crack was his snarky way of saying "I told you so."

Correct. You claimed that it was one of the highest timeshifted series last season and that this season with the move to 9pm, people wouldn't have to timeshift anymore and they would watch live instead. You used that as the basis for your argument that Lost would jump from its 14 million viewer core to 18 million viewers this season. You also incorrectly claimed that Marc's ratings numbers do not include same day timeshifting in the totals already.

Shuffleboard??? Thats too much activity.

They should be in their wheelchairs, outside, watching the birds fly by, until their nurse comes to get them for their 3pm supper. Then its off to bed by 5:30pm.
