I think the CW might have done this on purpose by testing the waters to see how SN would do without SV. By that I mean trying to see if SN was strong enough to possibly move to another night for next season. I think they got the answer they were looking for. I think SN will move to another night next season, so they can use SV and Reaper on Thursday nights.

Peace!!

Still, not bad, considering the way the overnights looked -- not bad at all.

Woohoo! Wink

I'm wondering if Marc might have transposed the numbers for CSI and Lost in the overnight report.
Eli Stone may have 'stabalized', but it seems to be doing so at a poor level. Sure, it is doing better than Big Shots, but it is not doing well enough to ensure another season.

For those of you dismissing LOST's ratings, please consider that it has pretty much been acting on its own to hold up ABC for weeks now -- this and EM:HE are the only shows that have cracked the 10 million mark. The next closest was Dance War, and that's over now. No new DH, no new Grey's, no DWTS, not even Ugly Betty. And even though I watch a lot of tv, I've hardly seen it advertised since its premiere, so the audience is almost exclusively tuning in because they are passionate about it. Now, factor in the Oscars this Sunday, Oprah's Big Give premiering in a couple of weeks, and DWTS returning on March 17, followed by their full slate of hits in another month after that, and there is no reason to expect that LOST would perform on Thursdays @ 10pm following Grey's what it did on Wednesdays @ 10pm last year following In Case of Emergency. Unless CBS plans CSI/WAT crossovers for every remaining week of the season, I think LOST will be just fine...

GA might be down in the 16 million range when it comes back. All the buzz surrounding this show has gone i'm afraid.

As for Lost at 10pm i think that was bad choice. In the best case scenario i see Lost pulling around 12 million. But it might be worse

Thanks Marc for giving Supernatural Honorable Mention.

Herm, what did you think about last night's episode? Talk about a huge reveal that even I did not see coming at the end.

Peace!!

I was a bit disappointed at the ending, wished they had kept Henricksen because he was a great character and had a lot of potential as a recurring. Sadly, not to be. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the episode, it had everything. Including "But you did not shoot the deputy" and Sam's bitchface following. LOL. Oh, good times.

Lost isn't a lead-in dependent show so it doesn't really matter if it's after GA or after In Case of Emergency

I agree. As I have said for a long time, it is time for Supernatural to step onto its own night as a lead-in. Maybe that will mean Sunday night at 8pm (if CW drops to 2 comedies at pm), Tuesday night at 8pm (maybe paired with Reaper at 9pm), or maybe Friday at 8pm (I doubt Friday, but CW has to decide what to do with Friday this fall).

Whatever LOST does I can't see WAT inflicting damage on it, more like the other way around.

Part of WAT's aud has come and gone this year and my guess this spring it will be more 'gone' than the other.

Wait, was it Valentine's Day again last night? Wasn't that what caused the low numbers last week? Wink

As for ES, keep in mind that it always looses around 400,000 and .2 in the demo with the final numbers.

I'm not the one that claimed the V-day excuse last week -- in fact, I found that excuse weak as well. But it has stabilized, the numbers prove that.

And as far as ES, I'm comparing its fast nationals, so it's apples to apples comparison.

I was one of the people who had thought Valentines Day was what effected the ratings, but only because other holidays (Thanksgiving, Halloween) effected shows dramtically due to lower HUT levels. I wasn't using it as an excuse, I thought Valentines Day was a lower HUT day.
Evidently, Lost wasn't effected, but it has settled in the 13-14 mil range. This weeks numbers are almost identical to last weeks. Lost will dip to 12 at the very least. There are only 3 episodes left before it goes behind Greys, where I see it pulling in similar (if not slightly better) numbers as it does now.

No it's not -- my point is that the people watching it now are its core viewers. While it's not lead-dependent, a good lead-in never hurts, it's just that it helps some shows more than others. And the shows that have failed following Grey's had nothing to do with the fact that Grey's was their lead-in but much more to do with the fact that they were poor shows.

When mushu said 'numbers' he probaby meant DEMO as well.

Yeah but some of its "core" viewers might leave the show once it moves at 10pm

I personally think if Reaper does well after SV, than those two shows should be paired together in the fall, and then have SN be paired with another show. I have seen people suggest OTH as its companion, but maybe one of their pilots could work. Who knows. All I know at the moment is that I am so thrilled to see these ratings numbers. The episode from last night deserved them!!

Peace!!

I wasn't saying it's doing enough for another season necessarily -- just pointing out that it has stabilized, and while 7.5 and a 2.7 are not great, it's actually decent during the strike. In fact, I think that's better than Big Shots was getting with the larger Grey's lead-in...
