This year, BG has been horrible and would be lucky to be as good as Lost is. The only interesting storyline going on is the Cylon civil war.
And frankly, I wish they'd just focused on that the whole season. There really are times I think the humans don't deserve to survive--because they're so BORING. But the cylons would just take over their running third-rate soap opera, I'm sure.

Everything else has been a snoozefest. That Baltar stuff is perhaps some of the worse stuff written in the history of the show.
They introduced this character to us as the Greatest Scientist Ever. And how much science have we seen him do? He became a politician, then a religious leader. And he sucks to hell at both.

Unfortunately, Ron Moore started to believe his own hype and in doing so, has changed BG from "must see" TV to "must fast forward through" TV. He'll be lucky if I bother to watch the last 10 episodes.
I'll watch. It's boring at points, but there are good moments, and at least it's no Pushing Daisies.
Originally posted by pisher: Actually, BSG would have done far better to emulate Lost's example--start off with full seasons, then graduate to shorter seasons.
Season 3-4-5-6 of Lost should have been much shorter, a couple of episodes each.

based on what I'm seeing lately, Lost has a much better chance of ending strongly.
After the soporific seasons 3 and 4, it can only be the case. Although why end the show at all? After going back to the island in season 5 finale, three more years could devoted to the survivors trying to get out of the island again, and so on.

I wanted to throw another reason out there why Farmer Wants a Wife should not be a loser.
