They may be less happy to look further down the page, and see the ratings for the same day last year--The Nine got a 3.1 in the demo last year, in the 10pm timeslot. And no, not against baseball, and with Dancing With the Stars and Lost as a lead-in, and I'm not predicting PD goes as quickly as The Nine did--The Nine was up against much stronger competition, week to week.

I'm not even HOPING PD goes as quickly as The Nine did.

This is too much fun.

According to ABC spin, PD was up in kids, teens and women demos. It would appear that the drop this week was in men.

Not a good sign at all for Bionic. Whenever there are major cast or crew changes, the show is in trouble.

'Sopranos' veteran Jason Cahill joins NBC series

The revolving door of producers on NBC's "Bionic Woman" is spinning again.

The latest addition to the show is former "Sopranos" scribe Jason Cahill. He'll take over as showrunner for the first-year series, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Cahill is stepping in for Jason Katims, who executive produces another NBC show, "Friday Night Lights." He has been working as a consultant on "Bionic" for the past month or so, overseeing the writing on the show.

"Bionic Woman," a remake of the 1970s series, has gone through a number of behind-the-scenes shakeups in its brief life. Laeta Kalogridis, the credited writer on the pilot, left the show soon after that and was replaced by Jason Smilovic, who remains on board. Glen Morgan and Michael Dinner, who directed the pilot, have also departed, and Katims' gig was always understood to be temporary. Only exec producer David Eick ("Battlestar Galactica") has been with the show from the beginning.

Cahill won a Writers Guild Award in 2000 for writing the first-season "Sopranos" episode "Meadowlands." He's also worked on "ER" and "Profiler."

"Bionic Woman," which stars Michelle Ryan as the title character, has been scuffling a little in its competitive Wednesday timeslot. It's averaging a decent 11.6 million viewers per week, but its numbers have been falling little by little each week since the premiere.

It's like your irrational Veronica Mars hate of last year. You didn't watch the show, but you went out of your way to bash it everywhere, even IN THE SERIES FORUM. Fine you didn't like it, but you acted like a complete a-hole about it, like your doing with PD now. It's just ridiculous, and it makes me wonder what you do for a living that you get to sit around all day responding on this message board.

That said, the ratings drop for PD wasn't that big. If next week doesn't reverse the trend, then it's a loser.

Well that would certainly make the most sense ... I mean ... men ... baseball ... baseball ... men. The two are kind of synonymous with one another don't you think?

I would never call anyone pathetic for no reason,

No, you'd do it because they dislike a TV show you are madly in love with, the ratings for which keep getting lower. Roll Eyes

but pisher gloats because two or three people like him on this board, people he will never meet,

No, I gloat because you guys keep handing me straight lines to die for. Big Grin

I dont know about you, but to me that is pretty sad

And it doesn't bother you that a number of people here are thinking the same thing about you? Well then--why should it bother me?

Like everybody else I'm sad sometimes.

But not right now. Smiler

quote:
and sure he has a right not to like PD,

Thank you for defending my constitutional right to not like a television show, as long as I don't tell anyone I don't like it.

quote:
I mean I hate a few new shows with a passion, but I dont rub it in the faces of their fans that love the show,

Right, because they'd kick your ass. You feel safer in a nice conformist group, surrounded by agreement, and dissent gives you hives.

quote:
I give my opinion once, but dont continue to diss a show that has fans who are rooting for it

But has it never occurred to you how pathetic it is for people to root for a TV show? Enjoy it, sure. But don't treat it like some kind of a beloved home team. It's beneath even the likes of you. It's REALLY sad. Just watch the shows you like, whenever you like, and by all means talk about how great you think they are--on forums devoted to that purporse. This is not one of those forums. It is not a forum for PD fans.

So go somewhere else, if you don't want to be disagreed with. Nobody made you register here, nobody makes you post here, nobody makes you read my posts. You want this to be a PD fanboard, but it's a forum to discuss ratings, and in the process, we discuss the reasons why a given show does well or poorly in the ratings, and sometimes the reason a show declines is that people gave it a fair try and decided they didn't like it.

I'm simply responding to people like you, who are refusing to see, as even a moderate PD fan like meggie can see, that PD is gradually bleeding viewers, and isn't going to manage a second season if it can't do better.

If you want me to post less about PD, why don't you do the same? You keep saying the same exact things, week after week--if you can repeat yourself, so can I. And I'll do it a lot more creatively. As you shall see.

Wink

That's exactly what it boils down to Devilz_0 ... there are plenty of shows we all dislike (I don't care for Grays Anatomy, Bionic Woman, any of the CSI's, etc ...), but when someone continuously presents their thoughts on a particular show and does so with extreme obnoxiousness and rudeness then that's just a troll who is only trying to stir up trouble and who serves absolutely no purpose.

Well said! I mean I think that the office is rapidly faliing in terms of quality this year, but I dont rub it in pisher face, I say my opinion once and thats it, I dont disturb the office fans like he does to PD's fans

Okay, so really when you think about it, I'm HELPING PD.

So why aren't all its fans thanking me?

Oh right, because they're too busy turning ten times as many people OFF PD.

Tsk tsk

"Daniel Dae Kim, who stars as Jin-Soo Kwon on ABC's hit TV series Lost, was arrested early [Thursday] morning on suspicion of drunken driving. Details of his DUI arrest haven't been released yet, but police said he was arrested around 3 am. He was booked at the Honolulu police station downtown, posted bail and was released at 5:05 am.

Kim didn't say anything as he left the station. He was escorted by two police officers to a silver SUV that was waiting for him just outside the Swan police station's receiving area."

No. It's criticizing a tv show. If people honestly can't handle someone else hating something they love, then they need to stay away from discussion boards. Mocking a tv show is pretty far away from being "fucked up".

Hating Veronica Mars is NEVER irrational. It's just good sense. Whoops! There I go, shoving my opinions in peoples' faces...on a board where we go to discuss our opinions.

Let me try to spell this out for you.

I. D-O-N-T. C-A-R-E.

I don't care if The Office is canceled after this season. Admittedly this is not terribly stoic of me, since its ratings are up from last season, even though its competition is CSI and Grey's Anatomy, as opposed to Kid Nation and Deal or No Deal.

I guess I'm just not as braindead a little fangeek as you. I just watch the shows I like, and don't make my life revolve around whether they stay on or not. My prime worry is that the shows I like will stay on too long, and I'll stop liking them, and that's happened many many times. Far as I'm concerned, most shows have worn out their welcome after two or three seasons. Very few exceptions.

So stop with the double standards, please. You want me to stop posting, because it bothers you that someone disagrees with you. You can handle the general concept of disagreement, but you freak out over actual specific dissents. Tough. IT'S NOT YOUR BOARD. And there are a lot of people here who agree with me. And who will go right on dissing PD, whether I'm here or not. Like it or not, you're the minority here.
