Tiger got a 1 stroke lead on the first hole, then was down a stroke after 3 holes, then back up by 2 strokes after 7, then back to just a 1 stroke lead after 8. One more bad hole by Tiger could cost him the round.
Remember, Tiger has never had to COME BACK after leading the pack after 3 rounds. Could truely be history in the making if the most dominate player in the game CHOKES

Golf Fans, even casual Tiger Fans, will find a way to watch the 18 hole playoff today.
Perhaps ESPN wont reach 4 million (I forgot NBC would have the back 9 holes), but it will be a BIG number for the net on a weekday afternoon.

The U.S. Open on NBC soared, meanwhile, with 13.84 million viewers and a 3.9/13 among adults 18-49 from 7-9 p.m.
Despite a starting time of 12 noon today, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Playoff Round between Tiger and Rocco get at least 4-5 million on ESPN.
I doubt it. Maybe the NBC coverage of the back nine might get bigger numbers, but with most people at work and the winner already known the numbers aren't going to be big. Even last night's numbers (we'll have to wait for the finals) are disappointing
Does anyone really think Woods will lose to Mediate. BTW he's up by 2 after 7 holes
Tiger in the final groups always causes the ratings to be higher than average. But with a good portion of his round being covered into primetime, reall put a good in for NBC. His tee off time on sunday was just before 6pm ET, IIRC.

Mediate picks up one but it's just a delay of the inevitable
I know, just as I posted my last update, Tiger has started a meltdown. He is now just 1 stroke up on Rocco. Its not over. Tiger can't handle these par 3's and he has 1 left.

Rocco is hanging in there but he probably doesn't hae the game (putting mostly) to beat a one-legged tiger. It would be a truly great story if was able to pull it off.
Dick Ebersol and NBC sure got a gift this year for the Open.

While it would be nice for the Tony Awards to rate a little higher, it is a specialized program for a specialized audience. Musicals are dying out and there isn't that wide of an audience. So to expect it to be a huge hit is unrealistic.
Perhaps we are not far away from having the "Broadway Channel". I am sure there is pleanty of archived performances, interviews, mad-to-movies that could be aired along with new shows and current productions.
