Of note for Lie To Me was Fox ordering an additional three scripts above the initial 13 episodes for this season.

Yay! Smiler

CW has been around for over three years now, and Vampire Diaries is the closest thing to a successful show they've developed so far. It's the first time their biggest show hasn't actually come from WB or UPN. And it's nowhere near the ratings the WB used to routinely get for Gilmore Girls.

I understand why we couldn't let the big investment firms fail, however disgusting it was to see them blow our tax money on unearned bonuses--but why keep bailing CW out? The world economy will do just fine without it.

meggie, you are right, regarding the strong lead-in. Oops, it wasn't House, it was only a little show called American Idol, which back then was getting over 30 million viewers.

So, ok, TV-aholic had a point and it wasn't the solid House that served as lead-in, but rather the mega-hit American Idol, which served as lead-in and turned Bones' marginal hit status to bona-fide hit in midseason of 2005-06.

And Castle is just now starting its second season (after an abbreviated first season), yet somebody would like us to believe that the best course for ABC is to schedule it out on its own so it can "prove it's like Bones." Like anybody really cares?!!

Of course, Castle will continue in that 10pm Monday timeslot even without DWTS as a lead-in, and sure, its ratings will drop some. But its been repeating well, something almost nonexistent on ABC dramas, and it totally deserves to keep that timeslot.

D'oh! Of course you're right. Bones has never had a lead-in of any kind. It's always been an 8pm show, and it's never had an easy timeslot.

Castle has always been on life support, and it'll flatine if FOX ever unplugs it.

Wink

I assume all the people who insist ABC has a great thing going with Castle, like FOX has with Bones would have no objection to it getting moved around a bit, as has happened repeatedly with Bones? No lead-in, tough timeslot competition, etc? I'm sure it would do JUST as well.

Right. Because Bones wasn't coddled AT ALL in its first couple of seasons. I'm sure it didn't need its House lead-in at all in order to establish itself.

HIMYM still doing good. Should get another season, and probably another after that.

Really good for BBT.
What exactly is so shocking on Accidentally on Purpose? I'm trying to recall but I draw a blank.

As for the person who said Wil Wheaton should keep his non-actor day job: AMEN!

I think she might bring those ratings down.

BTW OTH is having a great season, GG a terrible one so far. So the ratings really reflect quality this time

I have a feeling that Leno is actually doing worse for the affiliates than it appears because he has a steeper drop-off near the end than traditional shows. That's something NBC had been worried about from the beginning. If anyone has current quarter hours numbers, I'd love to see them.

Look at those female 18-34 demos for OTH and GG. A full point and a tenth higher than the HH rating. Houses full of bouncing young chicks must be gathering to watch those two shows. Are the advertisers happy if the overall numbers of those girls are so low....or are they happy that their products are reaching exactly the audience it wants?

1) Did AOP actually build on HIMYM???!!!!!???
-I though last nights episode was really good, glad its picking up
2) Two and a Half Men was about the same in both pre-finals and finals as last week, but BBT picked up in both. Its about 400,000 more viewers and .3 higher in the demo. nice its picking up.

Did anyone else see the live +7 results for big bang from week 2!
14.98 million views and a 6.0 demo!!!! I am so happy lol. 6.0 demo was near the top for the week!!

Series high in viewers for The Big Bang Theory, and ties its series high in the demo. Good week for it, too. People are raving about this episode as one of the series best.

AOP will now be picked up for the full season.

As expected, in finals HIMYM/AOP went down and 2.5M/BBT/CSIM went up. The football lead-in was probably much better than what AOP normally gives 2.5M. Starting at 2am had to have hurt HIMYM/AOP in San Diego.

HIMYM: -635k viewers, -0.1 demo
AOP: -360k viewers, -0.1 demo
2.5M: +242k viewers, +0.1 demo
BBT: +262k viewers, +0.2 demo
CSIM: +513k viewers, +0.1 demo

Note that the postgame show (which gets lower ratings) was on during part of AOP's time slot, so its smaller drop (compared to HIMYM) in finals was expected.

AOP had by far its best retention this week, almost holding all the demo and growing in viewers.

The CBS comedies are doing great, which I always like to see because I watch them all and think they are hilarious.

I really wish Trauma on NBC was doing better because honestly I think it's a good show and deserves to stay on the air. I've really been enjoying it so far, I also really like the cast Kevin Rankin and Derek Luke are great and I've been missing Kevin Rankin ever since he left FNL! Obviously the ratings are not good but really what else does NBC have to offer right now?
