It would be a good filler show between 60 minutes and cold case or before amazing race (if they moved it to 9 pm and shark to another night if it even returns)

Not only that, but BBT tied HIMYM's lowest demo for the season.
I think CBS has the evidence it needs to see that HIMYM is the stronger show which likely means that HIMYM will be the one to anchor a new hour of CBS comedy on a different night next Fall.
Beautifully put! CBS has 5 sitcoms that perform well. Why cut one simply because it won't fit on the 4-block Monday night, when you could simply ship one (or two) off and launch a new comedy block on another night? If CBS is smart it will keep all of them, Big Bang, Men, Christine, Mother, and Rules.
I think that if they put the right anchor show out on another night, CBS could start another comedy block of at least an hour. I think that Mother is the candidate here.
Bold prediction: If CBS doesn't move Mother off of Monday, when 2.5 Men ends it's run someday, Mother will be the replacement for the 9pm time-slot (the way 2.5 men took it from Raymond).
I disagree. considering it is spring and viewership tends to dip and its pulling almost 10 million AND going head to head with DWTS I think HIMYM has clearly earned itself another season. In fact last year at this time ratings dropped into the 7.25-7.5 million range so we're talking about a 25% jump. Next year at this time BBT might be the bigger show but its not yet.

I like both shows, but it really is clear.
If it's so clear let's move Mother back to 8pm. With all the stunts HIMYM has pulled it still gets only a million above a new show that was way less promoted. Clearly BBT is the stronger between the two
I completely agree. CBS has been very smart with their Monday night line up. HIMYM is finally getting the exposure it deserves. It really is one of the best comedies on the air. BBT is one of the best sitcoms to air in years. Well played CBS!

HIMYM was good last night. It's good most nights. I never feel terribly bad about missing it. I never feel like I'm totally wasting my time when I watch it. I'm not suprised its ratings aren't better. I'm not surprised CBS keeps renewing it (though I hope it stops doing so after the 5th season). I'm not surprised it does better than BBT (a perfectly decent show I rarely watch), week to week. Hannigan and Smulders are much hotter (and funnier) than whatsername.
But I'm still pissed off about Hannigan being a brunette on the show.
The writing on HIMYM is better than all the other CBS sitcoms that night COMBINED.
I'm starting to think the route CBS should go next year is Christine on Sundays at 8:30 behind 60 Minutes to help with the overrun. Then on Wednesdays have HIMYM lead into a new comedy. This would of course depend on CBS having two new quality comedies to produce.
Hard to believe that CW renewed Gossip Girl already and won't renew Reaper. Reaper performs so much better that it is clearly the more valuable show for building audience next year.
No it isn't. New eps of Gossip Girl score high in the 18-34 demo. Much higher than Reaper. That damned demo is all Ostroff and company care about.
That 18-34 is really bogus nonsense. There are plenty of advertisers out there who would want Reaper's overall younger skewing audience. This is another example of the CW being complete morons.
Over the season, Reaper has better ratings than Gossip Girl in first run...and in repeats. As for 'buzz', since it is an imaginary thing, you can make whatever claims about it you want.
I don't know. I would figure part of buzz is coverage in mainstream media. This weeks People has a spread on Gossip Girl and Entertainment Weekly also featured it recently. Even New York magazine has written on it and keeps an online blog for every episode. I don't see Reaper getting that much attention. (at least in the publications our library subscribes too)
I will say that whatever buzz is, it doesn't always translate to good ratings.
ummmmm hello....cbs had huge sitcoms on fridays, wednesdays, saturdays and sundays in the past...
imo, keep HIMYM, BBT & 2.5 men on mondays next fall....move christine and rules to the 8pm weds slot...if christine/rules could hold a 3.0 demo (which isnt that difficult for these shows) the move would be a success...plus criminal minds would have a compatible lead-in and the post 2.5 men slot would be used for a new show...
on another note...aint it nice that comedies are finally doing better???

if that happened then say goodbye to comedies on cbs mondays

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but the last time CBS tried a sitcom on a Friday, it was with Everybody Loves Raymond - Year 1 and the show's ratings were in the basement. Before that, it was the failed TGIF lineup that they tried to import parts from ABC.
As for Sat.. times have changed and so have TV watching habits so you can't expect to incorporate 1970's TV viewing habits with today's audience.
I think Christine on Sunday would be a good fit.
Weds would be a long shot and HIMYM is just starting to pop in the ratings thanks to that stunt so it shouldn't be moved anywhere. Rules should come back mid-season or after football season where it can be paired on Sundays with Christine.

This is exactly what I would do, though maybe on Sunday rather than Wednesday. I am concerned that Christine and Rules are not strong enough to anchor an hour on their own, but I think they should try this, as Christine/Rules seem at least somewhat compatible and post-2.5 should be used on a newbie.
Oft-suggested hours like BBT/Rules would be highly incompatible IMO. I think there has to be some degree of thinking about which shows fit together in an hour, instead of just randomly distributing the stronger sitcoms across anchor spots. I would not separate HIMYM and BBT.
They probably cannot justify getting rid of any of the five.

I don't care if it's single, multi or good year blimp cameras... if it's funny, it's worthy of being tried.
