No it isnt. It was a repeated episode of Gossip Girl, not a new one. GG new episodes ratings and buzz are bigger than Reaper's

Not only that, but BBT tied HIMYM's lowest demo for the season. I think CBS has the evidence it needs to see that HIMYM is the stronger show which likely means that HIMYM will be the one to anchor a new hour of CBS comedy on a different night next Fall.

That is the whole point: it has to do with the time period. HIMYM has outperformed BBT in both time periods.
I think the poster meant BBT would probably be doing even better than HIMYM in the 8:30 slot, and HIMYM would be doing worse than BBT in the 8:00 slot. At least, that's what I think they're saying. I think you'd have to flip the shows again to judge whether that's true or not.

Over the season, Reaper has better ratings than Gossip Girl in first run...and in repeats. As for 'buzz', since it is an imaginary thing, you can make whatever claims about it you want.

Nice way to damage the timeslot for Chuck next year. NBC would be better off with yet another hour of L&O repeats.
I seriously doubt NBC will keep Chuck in that time slot. I think it's a terrible lead in to Heroes (bad for BOTH shows, but actually worse for Chuck), but then again, I don't get paid tons of money to screw up schedules, so what do I know? As for Dad... they should have shipped this one off to Fridays a couple weeks ago. Anemic Amne$ia-like numbers on a Monday. You gotta wonder if part of it is that name? Thay could have called it Dad Wars or something.

Yep. From what I remember, week-to-week, Reaper did better than GG both in first runs and reruns. And I think the CW believes if they call GG a phenomenon, a sensation, and their freshman hit of the season enough times, we'll believe it and start asking ourselves why we aren't watching this fantastic new hit show. Then we'll all tune in, and GG will actually become the hit they keep telling us it is.

Well, HIMYM is benefiting from a stronger lead-in in than when BBT was in the 8:30 slot. Plus, lets not forget that BBT is a freshman series with only 12 episodes under its belt. The good news is that both shows will be back next season. Its a Win-Win situation!

No it isn't. New eps of Gossip Girl score high in the 18-34 demo. Much higher than Reaper. That damned demo is all Ostroff and company care about.

Beautifully put! CBS has 5 sitcoms that perform well. Why cut one simply because it won't fit on the 4-block Monday night, when you could simply ship one (or two) off and launch a new comedy block on another night? If CBS is smart it will keep all of them, Big Bang, Men, Christine, Mother, and Rules.

We are 3 weeks in on the timeslot flip experiment. Is anyone still delusional enough to think that BBT is thre stronger show?
BBT never grew from HIMYM by 29% in the demo. This week had HIMYM's expected heavy decline due to no stunt casting... and it still outrated EVERY episode of BBT. I like both shows, but it really is clear.
If it's so clear let's move Mother back to 8pm. With all the stunts HIMYM has pulled it still gets only a million above a new show that was way less promoted. Clearly BBT is the stronger between the two

But again CBS has never done well with sitcoms on other nights except for King of queens a few years back on wednesday nights. I do think they could put old christine on sundays in the fall since football always runs late and messes up the whole night. It would be a good filler show between 60 minutes and cold case or before amazing race (if they moved it to 9 pm and shark to another night if it even returns) quote: Originally posted by the128boy: quote: Originally posted by Obveeus: quote: Originally posted by TravisYanan: BBT never grew from HIMYM by 29% in the demo. The Bachelor is definately underperforming, while Stars is up from last week if I'm not mistaken?
Fox can't air enough Bones, House repeats, it seems. This is why their fall will definately need some work. The truth of the matter is, without Idol and 24 Fox has a bunch of holes to fill.

Although I am not a fan of cbs, I do admire how they have built a successful comedy line-up on mon. and have stuck with it. Both abc and nbc need to take notes on how to do this right, especially abc, which needs to refocus and put its energy into a multi-camera comedy block like the good old days it once had on tues. nights during the Roseanne era. quote: Originally posted by the128boy: quote: Originally posted by Obveeus: quote: Originally posted by TravisYanan: BBT never grew from HIMYM by 29% in the demo.
