Yep. As I said, the Doogie Houser tribute at the very end and the harold and Kumar commercial 'endorsed by Barney' were the best moments of the show. In retrospect, I might add the show's referenced website www.tedmosbyisajerk.com to the list as well.
the gap between fox and the other nets seems to have shrunk this week

ABC 2.6 ABC 8,830,000
NBC 2.3 NBC 7,690,000
CW 0.9 CW 2,300,000
MNT 0.4 MNT 1,250,000
This might be the last week we see FOX beat CBS in total viewers. CBS should now be in sole possesion of the #2 spot in the demo, for the season to date.
Within 2 weeks ABC will be on their heals and after a month of sweeps stunting, ABC will be in number 2.
It took me a few moments since I NEVER EVER watched Doogie Howser. But once you know that, it makes the piece funnier.

I just watched it last night too -- hilarious episode, and it got my interested in HIMYM again -- I used to watch it regularly in season 1. And yes, the Doogie Howser theme was a great touch!
Looks like Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, and The New Adventures of Old Christine all took a slight hit in the finals (BBT lost the most), while 2&1/2Men actually gained a bit. sitcomsonline link
Both BBT and HIMYM are both good shows, but from what I've seen, HIMYM is better.
I agree (as a matter of subjective opinion), but neither is anything to write home about--frankly, I probably like HIMYM better at least partly because the women are hotter. Which is a matter of objective fact, not opinion.

BSG is a very good show too, but not my cup of tea. You can not like a show and still think it's good
You can also think a show sucks ass and still enjoy it.

- Frasier for instance. I knew it was a good show and that it was funny, but it still never appealed to me because the humor was far too dry for my tastes.
::snort!:: Obviously not a George Sanders fan. Frasier was a cute little sitcom, which provided a very watered down version of dry wit.

The best comedy of the last decade still remains Arrested Development.
I think that's underpraising it--it's also the most overrated comedy of all time. Shares honors with Firefly for most overrated show of all time.

I haven't met one person yet who's watched it and didn't love it.
Pleased to meet you. I'm pisher.

It has huge cult status and I think the potential movie is going to do very well
Right--just like the movie based on Firefly, which grossed 39mil worldwide!

-Yesterday’s Winners: American Idol (Fox), Dancing With the Stars (ABC), Hell’s Kitchen (Fox), CSI: Miami (CBS)
-Yesterday’s Losers (Excluding Repeats): Just For Laughs (ABC), Beauty and the Geek (CW), Big Brother 9 (CBS)
----------
-Ratings Breakdown: Led by American Idol, it was another Tuesday victory in the overnights for Fox (which beat second-place) ABC by 4 full rating points. Third overall was CBS, which got a boost from a Tuesday edition of CSI: Miami, followed by NBC and the CW.
American Idol kicked-off off the evening with a rock-solid 14.9 rating/23 share in the overnights, with the half-hour breakdown as follows:
American Idol (Fox) 8:00 p.m. 14.0/22 8:30 p.m. 15.7/24
Since I like to always make predictions, most deserving to exit tonight is Ramiele Malubay, who just does not belong in the final 9. But most likely to go, unfortunately, is perennial bottom three occupant Syesha Mercado, who I personally think did quite well this week. Word of advice to Carly Simon-like Brooke White: stop interrupting while the judges are critiquing you. It’s starting to grate on this viewer’s nerves.
American Idol led into the season-premiere of Hell’s Kitchen, which finished second in the overnights behind ABC’s Dancing With the Stars with 7.6/12 from 9-10 p.m. While one could argue that the retention for Hell’s Kitchen out of the second half of Idol was just 48 percent, the expected first-place finish among adults 18-49 lands it in the winner’s circle.
ABC was off, but not running with back-to-back episodes of Just For Laughs at an average fourth-place 3.5/ 5 from 8-9 p.m. But the live Dancing With the Stars Results Show put it on the map with a dominant 11.2/17 at 9 p.m. So long, Steve Guttenberg, whose downfall might have been the annoying brown-nosing. That led into 10 p.m. special, ABC News: Live to Be 150…Can You Do It? at a second-place 7.1/11 at 10 p.m. If there is anyone out that there might live to 150 it is, no doubt, ageless host Barbara Walters, a true inspiration.
A repeat of CBS’ NCIS continued to hold up opposite American Idol, with a healthy (and second-place) 7.1/11 in the overnights at 8 p.m. Non-compatible lead-out Big Brother lost considerable steam, however, with a fourth-place 3.8/ 6 from 9-10 p.m. To the few people who did watch Big Brother, wasn’t the footage with Sheila sitting in the john with Sharon telling her how honorable Josiah is while he is stabbing her in the back a riot? Am I the only one who can’t stand Josiah? Or Natalie for that matter?
Part two of CSI: Miami capped off the evening for CBS with a first-place 9.3/15, proving that the Tuesday 10 p.m. hour is not jinxed for the Eye net!
Another two-hour edition of NBC’s The Biggest Loser 4 was consistent at a 5.2/ 8 from 8-10 p.m., with growth in each half-hour as follows:
And a repeat of NBC’s Law & Order: SVU was third at 10 p.m. with a below-average 4.6/ 8. Facing an original installment of CSI: Miami certainly did not help.
Last, and very least once again, was the CW’s combination of Beauty and the Geek (1.4/ 2), which needs to be cut loose after this season, and a repeat of Reaper (1.3/ 2). Maybe one day someone can tell me what is so special about Ashton Kutcher.
