My guess is the arrogance of Les Moonvest had some to do with this too.

I thought I read that Moonves and Woods were actually good friends. More specific to the question at hand, wasn't Woods wanting the shooting schedule to be more convenient with his schedule what caused the problems last year?

I guess the ultimate question will be whether Moonves gets thrown out before Woods does. Sounds like Les may be in some trouble.

Reaper should be renewed ASAP over Gossip Girl.

Reaper has hit three million viewers 2 times (Episode 1 and 4) while Gossip Girl has hit three million viewers 1 time (Episode 1)

Reaper's lowest viewership was 2.26 million viewers (Episode 9), Gossip Girl's was 1.80 (Episode 11; excluding the special)

Average Viewers:
Reaper - 2.73
Gossip Girl - 2.61

Anyways, other things on the night:

I thought the SNL thing was good. Chris Farley is very funny. It was kind of disappointing seeing the low numbers for Most Out. Moments. Law and Order: SVU, Good Job!

ATJ is still one of my favorite comedies, but the ratings are still quite low.

AI, who cares?

CBS' NCIS is strong. I don't like it, but it very strong.

He must be making the "Guest Staring" rounds. He was on Without a Trace recently.

How is that going to happen when Gossip Girl is already renewed, for a full season, as of March 3rd?

They have to cancel SOMEthing.

I vote they cancel the whole network.

Hey, my vote counts every bit as much as yours.

I must admit I used to be an ATJ fan, but I just can't watch it anymore. It has just been on too long. After like 8 years it is just too much, and ABC should get rid of it already.

I want the 8th season, but I don't care if it's in the summer. I just want a good ending.

Can't they just do that now instead of waiting for a whole season? Although, I'm wondering what a "good" ending would be.... hmmmm.

Once again, Dawn Ostroff and the CW suits don't care about total viewership numbers. They care only about the 18-34 demo and the teen demo. Check out the final ratings that Travis Yanan posts for new eps. He regularly includes the 18-34 demo for CW shows. Gossip Girl consistently outscores Reaper in those demos by over a full point. When it aired new eps on Thursdays, Reaper scored from 0.8 to 1.0 in the 18-34 demo. That's typical for Reaper. Gossip Girl's latest new episode scored a 2.1 in the 18-34 demo; that's also very consistent with its season average. That's why Gossip Girl was renewed for a full season ASAP. As far as Dawn is concerned, Gossip Girl's ratings are much higher than Reaper's. They're much higher than Supernatural's ratings, and they even inch out Smallville's. The 18-34 demo is all that matters to Dawn and to the CW. It's why Gossip Girl is her precious baby.

Idol must have lost 4 (at best) or 6 (at worst) million viewers from last year.

Idol has jumped the shark!

It will never be a 30 million show again.

"Last week's Idols were again 1-2 in the Nielsen rankings, but they put up numbers pretty much unseen since the 2005 Underwood season. Tuesday's Idol averaged 23.6 million viewers; Wednesday's results show 23.3 million. The episodes were off a combined 8.5 million viewers from last year's Top Seven week, and 9.1 million from 2006's."

Jumped the shark anyone????

I do not believe this is the strongest field ever (as the show wants everyone to believe). The problem with Idol is that they need another artist that doesn't flop. That wins a grammy, emmy, oscar, anything really.

but i won this one and there is no appeal buddy.
How do you figure you won? All the evidence shows that a CBS show CAN and will do well in the time slot.

You lost BIG-Time Dude.

Walter u remind me of afamous Walter from the 80's...Walter *duckface* Berman from Full House. Wink makes me want to throw little pieces of bread at you lol
