A two-season pickup? That is interesting, if true--and only justifiable if they are planning to announce S5 is the last one. And as far as I'm concerned, it will be--whether the show continues or not. I reserve the right to cut out sooner, if need be. No later.
I was hoping for more. Looks like Smackdown may take over as CW's #1 show, for now.
Top Model is still far and away higher rated among A18-49. Plus, it's against Idol. Smackdown's only competition is the fact that it's on Friday night.
Yeah. Smackdown has done really well here lately(why, I don't know), but ANTM is still the #1 highest rated series for the season on the CW.

ITA. As I posted last week in the "Medium" watch, I think CBS regrets letting the show go. It is a perfect fit for Friday night. I see another JAG here. The show is well produced and has a great lead! I'm hoping for the move. This show has more than one season left in it.

Yep - I believe "Medium" is from CBS/Paramount. At the conclusion of this season, it will have roughly 60 episodes under its belt. Another season of episodes would make the show more attractive for syndication/cable sales. Lifetime probably already has options to buy any further seasons. I'm sure it would do at least as well as "Close to Home" does on Fridays. So CBS picking it up could make some sense.
Jericho has basically held its audience from last week to this week. That in itself is commendable considering the long hiatus and the fact that it came back after Idol was in full swing.
CBS has not had a continuing drama like Jericho since the days of Dallas and Knots Landing. I would think they see alot of potential in Jericho.
Some have suggested that CBS could move it to The CW or perhaps link it up with The 4400 over on the USA Network as CBS Paramount produces The 4400.

ANTM is definitely the CW's most important show. I don't know about billboards, but ANTM seemed to be advertised all over various websites.
ANTM seems to have beaten ABC's lineup and came close enough that I predict it will win in the future against NBC's FNL.
Question: does anyone know what kind of ad rate goes into the 'CWh' promos that were peppered throughout ANTM last night? It was almost like reading a magazine. There you are following an article (ANTM) when you turn the page and get sidetracked by a different article-like advertisement (CWh) before finally getting back to the article you were originally reading. This went well beyond a 'commercial interruption'. How much did Herbal Essence pay for that and if they are paying, why didn't their product name get used more? Like I said, an almost magazine like hybrid between article and advertisement. Very strange.
Paul, you really feel that Scrubs and 30 Rock will be hurt by 5th grader? I am thinking not, because 5th grader is clearly "too inside". Dont you agree?

Looks like Lost is settling into the 10pm hour with the upper 12-million viewers, mid-7s in households, and 5.7 in the ad sales demo. As for last night... while Hurley's flashback wasn't THAT interesting, it was great to see our Lostaways back together on the beach (except of Jack, obviously). A nice episode full of levity... makes me worry about dark things to come!
Half hour breakdowns for Idol and Top Model to follow.

That joke was so Yesterday. C'mon, Keep up with us.
Well, I think Scrubs and 30 Rock may actually increase their rating tonight over recent weeks given CSI is in reruns. That's always a boost. But, I do think they will finish behind 5th Grader, despite the fact it is clearly too inside.

I expect lost to beat heroes in the 18-49 demo next week or atleast do a 6.2, and week after that Medium goes on a break, this why continuous season works so well, Lost now has opportunity to pick viewers of these show, Medium is totally going to be crushed when it comes back as seems to share its audience with Lost considering how many viewers it has lost since Lost moved into its time slot any more bleeding would be doom for the series.
