That's not a good sign. I think it's ridiculous that Megan Mullally is pregnant on it when she is 50 in real life.

Makes one wonder how bad are the 1st 2 episodes, or if it is a Dirty Sexy Money type of situation, the episode numbered 2.05 was actually the firs episode aired, and the first episodes where trashed.

I'm surprised that FOX would be willing to take a shot at a second season of DOLLHOUSE, but it works for me, as I already like the show, even though I haven't watched last night's episode. So, I really hope those rumors of FOX eyeing a second season of the show are true.

I think in some ways it's only fair for them to give the show a shot. The show airs on Friday nights with a terrible lead-in (ratings-wise) and has been holding most of its incredible small audience so far, while most other shows on more competitive nights lose a lot of viewers after the premiere.

Who said that her character is pregnant?

Hopefully those 2.4Million will be back for the series spinoff, Caprica and also for the TV movie this Fall that will tell part of the current story from the Cylon perspective.

I'm surprised they'd give it a second season. The ratings for Dollhouse aren't any better than the game shows they programmed on Fridays.

The only reason to keep Dollhouse is if FOX wanted to try to rebuild scripted shows on Fridays. However, FOX is going to need a good lead in at 8 PM. Dollhouse will never be able to lead off a night and quite frankly, with the ratings really shouldn't be back. The only show that I think could work is the drama pilot, Human Target.

And if that is the case, then the time left for AYSTA5thG and DFTL is short. There's no need for them.

The network has to fill out at least five hours in the fall (Mondays @ 9pm, all of Tuesday, Wednesday @ 9pm if Lie To Me stays at 8pm, Thursday @ 9pm if Hell's Kitchen doesn't run two cycles per season, and all of Fridays). Fringe will wind up in one of those slots, and Glee will have one of those slots. Depending on how Dollhouse does the the presumably better lead-in of Prison Break... how about a Fringe/Dollhouse night?

Also, Fox doesn't have a heck of a lot of drama pilots in contention (I'd read all of them... given last night's episode of Dollhouse, I'd definitely take a second season over any of them).

What did you think of the finale, Obveeus? I loved parts of it and was pretty 'meh' on other parts. The promos for Caprica look pretty interesting and I'll be picking up the DVD when it comes out. I can't wait for "The Plan" tele-movie, especially since I know Jane Espenson wrote it, and I love most of her stuff.

That's exactly what I was thinking. CW keeps saying they are targeting young females, and this casting is going to pull an older audience. I don't see it fitting in with their other lineup of shows. It sounds like a project just to get the actors attached to the other projects that they will bring to series.

I enjoyed the series finale of Battlestar Galactica very much. They did a great job of tying everything up. I also enjoyed Dollhouse and Terminator:SCC. Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Clone Wars was ok, but I find it a bit disturbing that it is the most violent of the four.

After 16 Days of 2009 February Sweep (in March), FOX Winning A18-49s, CBS Reigns in Viewership & Highest in Households

After 16 days of the 2009 February Sweep (in March), FOX is well out in front in young adult demo, attracting the most A18-49s with 3.82, with CBS in second place at 2.87, ABC sits in third with 2.53, while NBC lags behind in fourth with 2.11. At the bottom are the mini-nets starting with Univision at 1.49, The CW at 0.74, and MyNetworkTV at 0.55.

In households, CBS is tops, with FOX second, ABC third, NBC fourth and then the mini-nets. In average P2+ viewers, CBS retains bragging rights as most viewed with a 11,137,000 viewer average, with FOX second, ABC is third and NBC fourth. Univision is fifth, The CW is sixth, and MyNetworkTV in seventh.

CBS, ABC and MyNetworkTV are the only networks showing growth in all key measures of A18-49 demo, households and viewers from last years February Sweep, although Univision is up in households and viewers. FOX is down by double digits on all measures, but that is due to the 'Super Bowl' being included in FOX's February Sweep numbers last year.

Overall for the seven networks, after six nights A18-49 demo is down -18% from the 'Super Bowl'-inflated Sweep last year, down -9% in households and -12% in P2+ viewers.

The data for this and last year are all final Nielsen numbers, except for last night and some of the Univision numbers for this year which is preliminary data. This year, the February Sweep is being held in March due to the DTV changeover, whereas last years February Sweep included the 'Super Bowl' but was also held during the WGA strike which curtailed original product across some of the networks. Comparison of year-over-year Sweep numbers must be viewed within this context. All Sweep calculations incorporate Nielsen final numbers for primetime programming, Monday to Saturday 8-11 pm, and Sunday 7-11 pm. For daytime over-runs into primetime and primetime run-pasts into latenight (e.g. sports coverage, award shows), only the primetime portion of the program numbers have been factored in. For networks that split programs into multiple segments of sustaining and non-sustaining coverage, the rating for the sustaining portion applies to the entire program broadcast.

Well, Buffy gave almost 7 billion dollars in profits to FOX. So yes, it was a hit.

It's probably the merchandising that the 20th century arm of the company is looking at (and asking a favour from the broadcast arm). Whedon's shows sell insane amounts of DVDs and other crap. Firefly is still always in the top 100 sellers at Amazon despite being available for over 4 years.

I alone have bought 7 seasons of Buffy, 5 seasons of Angel, Firefly, 2 copies of Serenity, plus calendars and coffee cups and a bunch of other useless crap. How many people here own DWTS or American Idol merchandise? Whedon is like an STD; he's the gift that keeps on giving.

I'm still not loving Dollhouse yet. Hopefully last nights episode is a good as has been advertised.

I have all of Buffy, Angel, and Firefly on DVD. I saw Serenity in the theaters and am seeing it tonight at a midnight movie series theater in Dallas. I have the Serenity DVD and once upon a time, I had a mini-Buffy backpack, some comics, two calendars, and two or three paperback novels. Yeah, FOX has made some money off of me...

I think they still make Buffy and Angel calendars and I know Buffy is still alive in comic book form, so I'm going to echo (pun intended) and say that Buffy and Whedon stuff do have a profitable merchandise market.

I don't see any reason to bring back Dollhouse, either. FOX could easily stick in Don't Forget the Lyrics Fridays at 9pm, and get the same demo and 2 million more viewers. The only way I see Dollhouse being back is if FOX wises up and airs an episode after Idol, if Prison Breaks gives the show a boost, or if FOX decides they'd rather renew it instead of Fringe.

Lie to Me has proven to be a strong player for FOX, so it's in the bag for next season. Glee will be coming in next season. Fringe is still a tossup, but if FOX continues to push it off to the side, I don't see it coming back next season. Bones and House will definitely be back, 5th Grader and Lyrics are pretty much lockins for somewhere on the schedule, and FOX still has Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen, and Moment of Truth.
