pisher isn't saying DH should be canceled due to low ratings... he's saying ABC is hardly "happy" with their top dramas performing at such levels.
Exactly right--you need your biggest shows to do far better than this, to help compensate for all the stuff that goes wrong, further on down the schedule. DH isn't just there for ratings revenue--it's also there to promote the network itself, and to promote new shows. Only for that to work, it has to attract really big audiences, and it isn't doing that anymore. It's not losing money (I don't think), but it's also not making enough to float all the other boats, and that's what they're paying for.
And lest we forget, they probably aren't Marc Cherry's biggest fans, given that Mr. Cherry (to his credit) was one of their most determined and high-profile adversaries during the strike.

Personally I think they're worried but considering the state of network TV and the rest of their slate, as Holly said, they have bigger things to be worrying about.
People who offend others should be banned from the site.
Well, there's this to say for that idea--I could read an entire day's worth of posts in about five seconds.
Considering that Marc is constantly offending others here by marking their shows down as losers, who's going to break the news to him that he's banned from his own forum?
I think ABC is going to be in alot of trouble come next season. They have very few shows that get good ratings and they aren't getting any new shows to take off. And the ones that got great ratings have been slipping. The new ones they decided to renew were all relatively poor rated. I couldn't imagine shows like PD, DSM or ES going very far lol
right; thats why they are in second place for sweeps.

the other sign of the coin........ from medialife:

“Survivor: Micronesia” may have taken a bite out of “Desperate Housewives’” audience, but the season finale was still the lowest-rated in the series’ history.
“Micronesia” averaged a 4.4 adults 18-49 rating for its two-hour season-ender starting at 8 p.m. last night, according to Nielsen overnights, off 15 percent from a 5.2 overnight for last fall’s “Survivor: China” finale, which competed against a “Housewives” rerun.
Just wondering what happened to FOX being competitive on Sundays. It's not the strike, that's for sure.
And TV-aholic, they would have used twists to get out more people in the same time (e.g. both tribes vote out a player, two players voted out at one TC).

I am kinda hoping that CBS does cancel Christine so that ABC can give it the prime slot after Dancing with the Stars -- where it will be an even bigger hit -- and certainly a better show than Samantha Who.
Ever since the new year, the Animation block sides further and further down in the ratings.

I think there may have been on, two max, of double elimination rounds, but not 3.
