It seems to me that DH numbers are not that bad compared to last year . . . 15.75 million vs 15.24 million viewers this year. That is a drop of less than 5%, which is GREAT considering the drops that most shows have seen since the strike.
Both DH and Brothers and Sisters had great shows last evening. I will miss B/S - I can't believe we have to wait till fall for more - here come the summer doldrums, thankfully, I will be boating.

Sure it was down, but its mothers day, graduations are going, people are outside, its expected. Its in no worse situation (or perhaps a better situation) then both CSI and Greys.
Overall, ABC had a good night, especially Brothers and Sisters. Fox continues to be down (the mixing of new and repeat eps during the strike hurt), and NBC is a cellar dweller. Survivor had a good finale considering how that show has fallen from grace. My guess is that this season is the last for Survivor on Thursday, unless all of the new stuff on CBS bombs (and I don't think that will happen this year).

Although it's dropped, the numbers are pretty consistent with last year especially when you consider dvr increase from 15 to 24% year over year. A drop of 5-8% from a year ago is pretty good.

Kind of. Some media company bought airtime from the CW and will air two comedies and two dramas in that timeslot. I think the quality will probably of those telenovelas that MyNetwork aired their first year.
pisher isn't saying DH should be canceled due to low ratings... he's saying ABC is hardly "happy" with their top dramas performing at such levels.
Personally I think they're worried but considering the state of network TV and the rest of their slate, as Holly said, they have bigger things to be worrying about.
Oddly enough, CW has done the smartest thing yet in losing SUNDAYS. They can't compete and they shouldn't have been trying. Life Is Wild should have just been held to mid-season instead of tossed to the dogs. It's not as if it would have been a hit, but I'm sure it could have at least performed at "Reaper" levels...
Then again, they could just be smart and program something good... but let's not ask for miracles.
The network is in so much trouble I don't think they care at this point that giving up Sundays is being viewed as an obvious act of desperation. It's less for them to worry about.
Then again, the formation of the network was a sign of desperation in and of itself so who knows...
ABC Narrows FOX Lead in A18-49s; CBS Still Top Net in Households & Viewers After 18 Days of 2008 May Sweep
After 18 days of the 2008 May Sweep, FOX holds a 0.19 A18-49 demo lead over second place ABC with CBS in third and NBC trailing in fourth with a lowly 1.87 average. Meanwhile, CBS continues to be the most popular network in viewership with ABC in second, FOX following close behind in third and NBC lagging 2.5 million viewers behind in fourth.
In year-over-year comparisons, all the networks are down year-over-year in A18-49 demo, HUT and viewership: the six nets are down 14% in A18-49, down 10% in households and down 9% in viewership. The worst performers on a year-over-year are NBC and The CW: NBC is down 21% in A18-49 and down 17% in households, while The CW is down 17% in households and down 17% in viewership. The best performer on a year-over-year measure is MyNetworkTV: up 36% in A18-49, up 34% in households and up 39% in viewers. Whereas a year ago, MNT was at about one-third of CW levels, this May it is trending in the one-half range.

This years and last years numbers are based upon final Nielsen numbers except for Friday, Saturday and Sunday which are based on FAST National data.
The goog news for Brothers & Sisters was improved retention out of Desperate Housewives.

Well considering it still wins its timeslot, removing Survivor will accomplish little other than to help Ugly Betty win the hour .... oh never mind As a fan of Survivor I would like to see it go to once a year, but really, for an 8:00 timeslot, where you going to find a 4.0 demo? Next season it will be on twice in its usual spot unless CBS really strikes gold somewhere.
