Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Also, since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 9 percent in early 2006-07 to approximately 20 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.
----------
-Yesterday’s Winners: American Idol (Fox), Moment of Truth (Fox)
-Honorable Mention: Two and a Half Men R (CBS), Supernanny (ABC), CSI: NY (CBS), Law & Order (NBC)
-Yesterday’s Losers (Excluding Repeats): Wife Swap (ABC), America’s Next Top Model Clips Show (CW), Cashmere Mafia (ABC)

-Ratings Breakdown: It was another slam-dunk midweek victory for Fox care of American Idol (Viewers: 26.02 million; A18-49: 10.5 rating/26 share) and the oddly addictive Moment of Truth (Viewers: 16.89 million; A18-49: 7.2/18), which is not a game show you want to participate in if you have any skeletons in your closet. Retention for Moment of Truth out of American Idol was an acceptable 65 percent in total viewers and 69 percent among adults 18-49.
CBS finished a distant second overall with its combination of repeats of Two and a Half Men (Viewers: #2, 8.04 million; A18-49: #2.5/ 6), The Big Bang Theory (Viewers: #4, 6.54 million; A18-49: #3, 2.1/ 5), Criminal Minds (Viewers: #2, 10.35 million; A18-49: #3, 2.7/ 7), and an original installment of CSI: NY (Viewers: #1, 10.73 million; A18-49: #1, 3.2/ 9). Without the benefit of airing out of any original installment of Criminal Minds, CSI: NY dipped year-to-year by 4.62 million viewers (14.97 to 10.35 million) and 29 percent among adults 18-49 (4.5/11 to 3.2/ 9). As for the Two and a Half Men encore anchoring the evening, that was not a bad performance by any means opposite American Idol.
Next was NBC with its line-up of a repeat of Deal or No Deal (Viewers: #2, 8.17 million; A18-49: #4, 1.8/ 4 -- it was painful to see that contestant blow it again!), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (Viewers: #3, 7.99 million; A18-49: #4, 2.2/ 6) and Law & Order (Viewers: #2, 10.07 million; A18-49: #2, 2.9/ 8). Comparably, Law & Order built from year-ago occupant Medium (Viewers: 8.15 million; A18-49: 2.9/ 7 on Feb. 7, 2007) by 1.92 million viewers.
ABC finished fourth overall in total viewers and third among adults 18-49 as a result of Wife Swap (Viewers: #4, 6.58 million; A18-49: #2, 2.6/ 7), Supernanny (Viewers: #4, 7.60 million; A18-49: #2, 3.0/ 8) and Cashmere Mafia (Viewers: #3, 5.09 million; A18-49: #3, 2.0/ 5). Worth noting for Supernanny was growth out of Wife Swap of 1.02 million viewers and 15 percent among adults 18-49. Will the failure of Cashmere Mafia have a detrimental impact on NBC’s similar appeal Lipstick Jungle tonight?
A clips edition of America’s Next Top Model fell flat on the CW, with a very distant 1.75 million viewers and a 0.8/ 2 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m. That led into a repeat of One Tree Hill, which dipped to 1.34 million viewers and a 0.6/ 2 in the demo.
Good numbers for FOX again. It looks like MOT is here to stay for a while. A little more slippage but still very good numbers for the hour. I think AI will bounce back next week with Hollywood week. I see their numbers going higher since, like live events, tough to DVR them and watch them later. Also like the instruments too. That should put some more life into it.
Pretty sad numbers for CSI:NY. Is that an all-time low for a new episode on the show? It's funny how people are really not starting to care about new episodes on TV. That's really bad news for the networks. They better have some new episodes produced before the season ends to get some momentum or their in trouble for the 08-09 season.
I think Lipstick Jungle will do worse than Cashmere Mafia. I am guessing 9-11 millions viewers. The show does not look interesting and their lead-in is weaker than Lost. It should be an interesting race between Eli Stone and LJ. WAT should also draw some viewers too. Not sure who will win but it will be tight.

I wonder if viewers are not sure if any veteran series have ANY episodes left, even if they do. Most are completely out of new Episodes so if One does have an episode or two left, they may not realize it.
But we here at the PIF may be to close to the information to really know for sure.
Seems those shows that Premiered after the new year are not as affected by this type of situation.

It faced the MONSTER called American Idol.
Much like what happened when Power of 10 tried to go up against it a few weeks back
Yeah, but it didn't have much of an issue before this week.
Last week is only had 9.68 million viewers and AI did jump a 1/2 million viewers from last Wednesday's airing. Plus you actually had some competition (finally) from CBS with their stronger sitcoms.

AI is not really a monster anymore, especially given the competition. Next year, against original programs, it will fall further.
A lot will depend on how usccessful AI is this year. I do think the Sonjia(sp) thing last season did sour some viewers from this season. But if they can produce exciting talent & competition, it could go back up. I think the addition of musicianship, not just singing talent, will be a big factor.
