Last week when I saw STREETS OF SANFRANCISCO was being remade I couldn't belive it...now I'm completly floored to see the blurb at the top of the page saying CBS TO REMAKE HAWAII 50.
G-damn CBS I hate you! You let SWINGTOWN wither and die on the vine on Friday nights and now you are going to remake YET ANOTHER COP DRAMA...CBS-the COP BROADCASTING SYSTEM.
The last orginal bone in its body is dying wtih SWINGTOWN. I've read on this board how people tuned into it and didn't like what they saw...I just can't understand why they didn't...the characters are warm and compelling and its' great to see the 1970's again through nostalgic eyes.
Now CBS is delving deeper into COP SHOWS..these remakes..the MENTALIST...a cop show at its heart..11TH HOUR...basically a cop show at its heart. CBS all criminals and cops all the time. End of rant.

What exactly is the controversy here?
The only 'controversy' is claiming that this was the best race ever or that the online clip was most watched because it was a 'a close race' or 'a come from behind victory'. There are lots of those in the Olympics and I gave an even better example of one. The simple truth is that the men's clip is most watched because it is most hyped (by NBC, not just by the guy here tossing slurs out against the athletes in other countries) and it is most hyped because an American won, not simply because of the competition closeness/storyline. Personally, I am not as fond of the relay races since the people winning the medals often didn't even race it the qualifying rounds. I hate that format.

CBS tried. America didn't like it as much as you did. Why would you hate CBS?

I tuned in and it was just plain boring. You think something great is going to happen and it's just boring. If it were on Showtime then it might of been better. But on CBS it was boring. Plus I think the cop dramas are much more interesting.

It's like we were watching too different shows! I couldn't wait to see what was/is going to happen with the different combinations of the adults. And the kids stories were fairly interesting as well. To me seeing how these relationships will shake out is more interesting than the umpteenth viewing of fingerprints being lifted or a blue light shining on DNA traces in a murder victems hotel room.

I'm among those who did watch Swingtown first few episodes and then left. Not a bad show just not good enough to keep me interested. As for Bernero new version of Hawaii five-0...not sure about this. I watch Criminal Minds and love it and yes I like cops shows but somehow this news doesn't excites me. I liked the original Hawaii five-0 and don't think it need to be done again. I am much more interested by Bernero two other projects which for those of you who dislike cops shows with a passion should skip this: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/tel...4784baf0ead3bc3ea388

It's apparently not actually a bad drop episode-to-episode. Though I don't have last week's exact numbers, TVByTheNumbers pegged it at roughly 1.3 million viewers (IIRC), which was a substantial loss from the nearly 2 million that watched the premiere. A 50K loss... nothing to cry about.

Big Brother lost another 10% of its viewers, but had a nice bump up in the final demo number.
Til Death avoided the record for lowest rated Big4 show ever (The Office still holds the record for worst ratings ever).

Why ouch? Aren't these numbers better than last season? AMC is happy to have any show do over a million. quote: Originally posted by lopez: Ouch Mad Men.
On another note, Big Brother had the highest demo for a non-Olympic program! Woo Woo!
