I know Travis is pretty busy (per his blog), so I'll post a thread with last nights Fast National Numbers. Travis will handle the rest of the week.
Network Averages for Monday June 21th, 2008
Net Viewers HH/Share 18-49/share
----------------------------------------------------------------
NBC 32.62 M 18.3/31 11.1/30
CBS 5.35 M 3.6/6 1.3/4
ABC 3.78 M 2.5/4 1.1/3
FOX 2.46 M 1.6/3 1.1/3
CW 0.72 M 0.5/1 0.3/1
Big Brother only lost about 10% of viewers, but 25% of demo. The Olympics are definitely a demo magnate. I guess that is a good thing for CBS, since they have mostly non-demo viewers anyway.
Basically every show killed by the Olympics. Personally, I think all the numbers for all the other shows are virtually meaningless for the next two weeks. If the Olympics are going to get over 30 million viewers the other shows have no chance of getting any decent ratings at all.
True, but you would think that the nostalgia of the olympics would draw MORE from older viewers of all the nets.

Yeah, but look how much 60 minutes went down. I think it usually gets about 9-10 million.
I agree, but it will be fun how much the olympics will hurt CBS, since they do repeat the best of all the nets.
Will 2.5 Men get over 6 million tonight?

I don't think anyone will be putting much meaning into the non-NBC numbers for the next 2 weeks. The only points of interest will likely be if all-time low ratings records can be set (Til Death was close to NBC's lows with The Office) and which networks go ahead and 'burn off' new product even during the Olympics (stuff like Swingtown) as a demonstration that they really don't care what the ratings are the next few weeks.

Just a guess, but I say the 8:00 CBS shows go down a lot, because they are younger skewing demo type shows. Knowing Two and a Half Men it will still probably get 8-9 million. Nothing seems to be able to lay a glove on that one.
Does anyone have an theories as to why these particular Olympics have been getting such good ratings? Is it the "otherness" of China that people are interested in? Or perhaps the worrisome economy and high gas prices that has people staying home more?
I wasn't really surprised by how well the opening ceremonies did, but last nights numbers are pretty spectacular. The gymnastics are always a big draw, but wow! NBC must be mad with glee over these developments. Hopefully, they will be able to drum up some interest for their new fall shows and the returning ones that were shortened (and perhaps forgotten) by the strike.
A question in regards to those hourly breakdowns for CBS...
Are those the numbers for the individual series or for the hour that they were supposed to air. The entire line-up was delayed for about 45 minutes due to overrun with golf coverage.
If the numbers indicate a time period (and not a particular series), then "Big Brother 10" took a much larger hit than just 10%. Using this example, BB10 would account for most of the 4.74 million viewers accredited to "Million Dollar Password".
Perhaps a half-hour breakdown for CBS (and all the nets) would clear up any confusion concerning the ratings and those individual CBS series.

It might be bunnies. Seriously, though, I think gas prices and the general level of interest in the country are two big reasons. I think that China is about to explode in tourism with the US (they promoted with Survivor and ANTM last year as a 'lead-in').

Kath&Kim, My Own Worst Enemy, and Lipstick Jungle (returning) all look horrible. I have not seen an NBC promo that interested me in one of their shows yet.

Those numbers are the timeslot data. Actual corrected numbers for the individual shows will come out tomorrow afternoon when Sunday finals are released.
Am I the only one who absolutely HATES IT when the Olympics are on? I just cannot stand the Olympics - they just take out every other show in site. All the other networks are usually afraid to schedule new episodes of their summer shows, so we have to sit through 3 weeks of nothing but repeats. Even the originals that do air will be so low rated chances of a renewal will look even worse. For example, The Mole finale tonight without the Olympics would probably be its best airing to date, but since its scheduled against The Olympics, it'll be lucky to do above 3 million - very sad.
On another note, Big Brother 10 didn't do that bad - I thougt it would have done much worse. That proves it does have a VERY loyal audience.

I don't know if I hate the Olympics, but I will say I have not watched a minute of them yet. Maybe it is just me, but I will be watching my BBT, HIMYM and Two and a Half Men repeat tonight as I do every week.
