Good for all us die hard BIG BROTHER fans for not letting the show fall into the OLYMPICS black hole!

When the season started doomsayers on this board where predicting its demise...not happening!

P.S. I knew Jerry would be all talk and no action when it came to revenge against Dan. He seems to have a seething hatred for the young males in the house.

Wanna Bet receives a boost from Wipeout, but it will never be a big one.

I read on tvbythenumbers site that between 11:39pm and 12:18am, when the women's gymnastics team was on, that NBC got 24.4 in the 18-49 demo and 44.8 million viewers. That's just incredible.

I was expecting 50 million given the hype. Probably Phelps has a chance of beating those 44 million if he goes for the 8th gold. Usually woemen's gymnastics team final is the most watched event

Wipeout did pretty good last night. For it to get 4.9 million viewers for a repeat against the Olympics that's good IMO.

Wanna Bet did better then it's Monday timeslot, but it dropped off pretty heavily in the half hours. Then that hurt Primetime: Medical Mysteries, which was pretty good. However, P:MM did do better then Wanna Bet.

What is FOX trying to do with T:SCC? Nobody wants to watch it. Just run repeats of something else.

Well, with it being on that late at night, I am sure many WANT to stay up and watch, but may not be able to stay up that late, especially KIDS. School is back in session this week (at least here they are) so that may keep the numbers from reaching 50 mill.

Its just olympics Filler. Nothing more. What ever they put up there wouldn't do much better.

But, there are many of us that WILL be there when the second season premieres.

They could, they just shouldn't run them daily versus the Olympics.

Didn't ABC originally plan to air a new episode of "Wipeout" opposite the Olympics? Would have liked to have seen how a fresh episode of Wipeout would have done against real competition.

ABC should have held off premiering Wanna Bet on Tuesdays after the Olympics. It's good that the Alphabet is at least giving the show a chance, but feeding it to the Beijing Bomb doesn't help matters.

Why does BB keep dropping in the second half-hour?

Good overall numbers for NCIS opposite the Beijing Games, but INCREDIBLE numbers for the Olympics as a whole. Finally, NBC has something to smile about!

Olympics: amazing numbers. A shame the coverage of the women's gymnastics finals never showed 4 of the 8 teams involved and really only showed the China/US rivalry. With all of NBC's hype about hours of airtime for the Olympics, this is an event that could have aired on more than one channel and featured some other country's entrants.

Big Brother and Reaper/B&tG held up fine against the Olympics, but everything else got chewed up and spit out.

Because the BB fans who watch (or at least read summaries of) the Live feeds already know who is nominated (on Sundays), or if POV was used (on Tuesdays). Sundays they watch for the post-eviction reaction and/or any competitions, and Tuesdays they watch the POV competition (even though they know who won, they still want to see the process). The past couple of weeks there have also been some huge fights, but they've been early in the show. On the Live show Thursdays, the eviction/HOH comp isn't until the 2nd half-hour, so the ratings are more likely to be about the same from the 1st to the 2nd half-hour (or even go up a little)....

Nothing surprising about NBC's coverage. BTW how is it? Soapy again or more sports oriented?
