What follows is the fast affiliate rating results for Saturday, September 5 by network and by network per half-hour (in the order of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and The CW):
Has CBS ever tried repeats of Two and a Half Men or The Big Bang Theory on Saturdays? It would most likely do better than a repeat of Ghost Whisperer.

Well definately not movies. Whatever the demo breakdowns of the college football games ends up being should be what they target after football is over.

That would be an interesting move. CBS should try - if any network could ever have success on Saturdays again, it would be CBS.

Interesting, but it would need to be heavily promoted. Every time CBS runs one of their sitcoms on another day they never tell anyone, and the regular audience does not know to tune in. They would need to run heavy promotion during the regular Monday showings, and let people know they are being shown on Saturday. If people actually knew they were on those two powerhouses could actually do well for a Saturday.

I agree - I bet CBS would have a lot more success airing comedy repeats on Saturdays than drama repeats. The dramas never do better than 5 million, but I think the comedies, if Saturdays become a regular home for them, could do that and better.

Yes, they're going to spend tons of time for Saturday night repeats. I think they know what they can get with the drama repeats so they just stick with them. Look for the higher rated dramas to take over this fall. Personally, I would've shifted Without a Trace and Flashpoint to Saturdays this summer permanently and then gone back to a rotation this fall.
While on the subject of CBS and repeats, why didn't they shift BB Tuesdays to 10pm this summer and air back to back NCIS? That would've gotten people into the rhythm of seeing two episodes of the same thing back to back on Tuesdays and BB could've potentially benefited from a later start time (and perhaps been less conservative on what they showed).
The 'ION Big Movie Weekend' did really well with its double-feature of A BRONX TALE and INSIDE MAN up against MyNetworkTV's 'My Saturday Night Movie' encore of THE COMMITMENTS. ION beat MyNetworkTV in every one of the 12 metered markets, with the exception of San Francisco / Oakland, where KRON, one of the most powerful of the MyNetworkTV affiliates, prevailed over ION.
As MyNetworkTV prepares to give up its 'My Saturday Night Movie' franchise on Saturday nights, the 'ION Big Movie Weekend' looks well poised to step in and fill the gap.
