Seems like a difference of opinions. However, if you think it's so aweful, why do you still watch it. quote: Originally posted by Zitrone: quote: Originally posted by robert: Well thank you for saying the critics hate it. You really want me to go over all the inconsistencies and general silliness in the escape from SONA? Not to mention that the very concept of SONA is even worse than the "company". A prison in Panama where everyone speaks English, and where the guards can shoot anyone on sight? OK... If you like bad shows, it is understable to dismiss tv critics, but anyone who has watched this series from the first episode can see how poorly written it has become. What a contrast with the meticulous tattoo-guided first escape.

Well I really liked the first season, and there wasn't much on network TV during this strike. Can it get better in a 4th season? The characters are all over the place, it will be hard to tie the storylines together. quote: Originally posted by TV-aholic: Todays Game highlights the Series Premiere of New Amsterdam on FOX (9pm ET).
And now, for the worse pilot of the year. I can already predict that's one show FOX will NOT bring back. Although the AI lead-in could save it... Sigh.

I'm sure if Fox thought that CW wanted SCC they would probably renew it just to spite them. Is PB Fox owned?
The CW can't afford SCC -- way too expensive for the budget of a fledgling network. October Road is more their budget, but I'm not sure if they want it.

You know in the first season i was also bothered by the SF elements (i mean from the first scene of the series it was clear the show has its SF elements - have you seen that tattoo?). But after a while i realized it doesn't have any sense to question every aspect of the show so, after all it's just a way of spending 60 minutes watching TV. Anyway it still is more logical than shows like Heroes and Lost

I loved last week's OR. Haven't seen last night's yet but will here soon. I think the show really has potential written all over it yet but its too late and not near enough audience would carry over to the CW to make it feasible to do.
I don't think the CW would want it anyway, all the characters are too old.
I don't think the characters are too old. Most the main characters are in there early and late 20's, same as OTH. Plus, it is cheap so I don't see it out of the realm of possiblities for the CW to look at if ABC doesn't renew it. Only thing that might be a problem is that it is made by ABC...
also the main character on OR was on OTH. Oh how I miss Jake and Jenny.

no way related to last night's shows or ratings but I was just reading a letter from someone on the CW show The Game saying the network was in fact trying to cancel the show. The actor was asking the site to post the information in the hopes the fans ask the network to renew. Not sure if true or not but if that's the case would that just leave EBHC the only comedy?

quote: This sounds like CW fans arguing about Reaper vs. Supernatural and which one should be renewed.
Then I might as well go all fan girl and say as long as Bones is back, I don't care about PB and SCC

That's true -- and its ratings, while low, have been very steady. And while they've been low for one of the big 4, they would be huge for the CW -- in fact, even if it kept 70% of its viewers with the move, it would still be a net gain for the CW.

I would doubt that 70% of the viewers would make the jump to the CW. Most viewers would just think the show was canclled and never know it was on another network. The CW is not getting the "Surfing" viewers like a FOX, ABC, NBC or CBS get.

That's an optimistic figure. I think it will struggle even worse BTW CW has started firing people. An end in sight for the network?

I disagree -- the amount of people following a show is directly proportional to the intensity of fandom. Fans don't need to channel surf to figure out where it went -- they can (and would) surf the web and find out that their show moved to the CW. So I'd expect 3.5 - 4 million to make the switch over, if this move were to happen. And like someone else mentioned, the lead character was on OTH on the WB not too long ago, so it may even find new fans there.
