Thanks Travis!
They're up now... But I feel like I have to question everyone who clicks "ignore" on pisher and then proceeds to write about it in their signatures...

Networks and Advertisers know that a big chunk of DVR viewers skip commercials. Therefore, those viewers are of little value.

Same here. I think that's what it is because they want to have a jury of seven, so one of the two evicted will stay.

Yes, and the proper question to ask is "Were you dropped on your head as a baby?"

Obveeus is right.
It might factor in for certain shows SCC, Lost, 24, etc... that might have strong DVD sales or merchandise tie-ins, but as for actual ratings they don't mean much.
Heck, based on Lost's supposed DVD sales for season 1 it could have pulled 7 million for season 2 and they might have kept it around if signs showed close percentage of the people who got season 1 were planning on buying season 2. Big Brother having a high number of DVR users means nothing. What channel will buy syndication rights to it? What person would buy the DVD boxset? Its value lies purely in the initial airing. Heck even sitcoms and hourlong dramas have SOME repeat value. Reality is a once and out experience for people. If they skip the ads it is pointless for the nets.

But... but they must let everyone know about this great and amazing accomplishment! What's the fascination with all the immortal characters on TV? Torchwood has unkillable lead as well.

It's interesting to see all the alternate personalities emerge -- with names like "mayorofsmpleton" and "Cruella", gee, I wonder what sort of posts you guys are going to have...

Your name means "a horrible or unreal creature of the imagination," and you're judging other people's future posts by their names? Seriously?

Well, that's one definition -- but I've had this on-line name for years in various forums, and always post with that. I don't bring it out as an alternate personality when I don't want to reveal my true self.

Translation: you have always been a horrible and unreal creature.

So who do you think I am, pisher or someone else...? That's so lame, to throw accusations that you cannot prove, and to go all ad hominem when you have nothing substantial to add. Of course, Marc can check our IPs and see if there is a case of double identities going on. But I am glad to hear that you have this deep sense of honour that prevents you from ever using different name in different forums. Because it would be absolutely horrible, vile thing to do. I am proud of you, ser.

I didn't say who's alternate personality -- you are the one who brought up pisher...
But I do find it interesting that you've been registered with this site for over a year, had only 37 posts, and yet you chose to use one of those 37 posts to slam somebody for chosing to ignore pisher. Now that could be just a great coincidence, so if it is, I apologize.

Well, who else can it be? I am afraid I am not following this profound debate as closely as I should have, although I did read all the pages. Besides, there is something flattering about being mistaken for Pisher, some people wank so much about him that he takes on almost mythical quality. Big, Bad, Horrible Pisher. Also, I'd like to be able to pass for native speaker.
They do not ignore Pisher, though. It would be cool if they did, because apparently he is, like, bane of everything that's good and light in universe. That would be reasonable thing to do. But my idea of ignoring is not saying every other day "By the way, I am totally ignoring pisher! I don't give a damn what he says! He doesn't exists anymore for me! Pisher who? haha", putting his name in signatures, or talking smack about him for pages. They couldn't give him bigger validation if they tried. You'd be right to point out that it doesn't concern me, but it's just very funny. Not wrong or bad or anything, but funny. Some posters seem to be so endearingly proud of themselves for putting pisher on ignore, they put it in their signatures and keep bringing it up, lest we forget it.
I would participate much more often, because I love good internet bitch fest more than I have every right to (not sure if I can contribute much to meaningful part of conversation), but as you can see I usually come too late in party for that. I have this name on couple of other forums, although I also have different ones - never on one forum, though.

I agree with you on this point Cruella!
