Yeah, those 3 million extra imaginary viewers per week. The important thing is they are there in spirit...or on the Internet. Big Grin

So it would be like the CW that exists on Wikipedia?

Reba was cancelled becuase of high costs and political issues between CW and the FOX production company. CW is no doubt fine with the idea of 'family drama' as nothing about that genre excludes appealing to a younger audience.

Hey, folks...we're tying something new here. Do you like the headlines above the comments? I thought the way we did it last time on the right was too obtrusive. What do you think?

How bad can those political issues have been? Reba may be off the primetime schedule, but The CW still runs 10 Reba episodes a week in daytime?

I'm still not convinced that those four are Cylons. How did they make that intuitive leap, exactly? Because they could hear a Dylan cover song? Maybe it's a transmission from Earth they picked up?

I agree that the BSG cliffhanger was well done. Unfortunately, it also reveals why the series has faultered in the ratings and turned into something that has very little appeal for the genreral public. My belief is that this series has all but destroyed itself by using the internet. Go ahead, ask why.

I'm glad you asked. People watch TV serials for the story telling. They want to find out where the story goes. Unfortunately, the pathetic people involved with Battlestar Galactica have seen fit to continually reveal the major plot points ahead of time in their expanded web content (podcasts and such). The result is that the show is most closely followed online by the kind or person you least want to talk to at the water cooler. Who wants to discuss a show with someone that knows where the story is headed in such a way that there really is no speculation or possibility involved? The producers/writers of the show have decided that 'the fans' want the cliffnotes for the story 9 months ahead of time and so they spell it all out for that 'hard core fanbase'. Meanwhile, everyone else wanders away from the show because there is no joy in a storyline written in such a way that there is tons of possibility for speculation, but no room is left to actually do it as a result of the web content 'enhancements'.

I sincerely hope that people creating online content to 'enhance' TV shows in the future look to Battlestar Galactica as a perfect example of what can be done (additional scenes) and what should not be done (podcasts to explain the upcoming direction the show will take).

Thanks for the reminder. I always forget that the ratings get 'backed up' over the weekend and then the Sunday numbers eventually get tosseed out 'at the same time' as the weekly numbers.

Not too bad. I like the headlines, but there's still a bunch of blank space, especially around the google promo.

While I'd like to see Knights of Prosperity get renewed, I think GLo is a more realistic show to put some effort behind. The show has been a trooper for ABC over the years, constantly being put in not so hot timeslots with little to no promotion and its always pulled in at least a stable audience. Last season pre-Idol it was pulling around 9 million on average. After Idol came around, things slipped to upper 6 million lower 7 million range. It had no pre-Idol period this year and even less promotion and its still right around 6 million for its average.

When it comes to comedies, there is no one weaker than ABC, and GLO is ABC's strongest comedy besides ATJ (which has a very small shot at renewal since Courtney Thorne-Smith is leaving). That being said, based on ratings, neither deserve renewal.

I concur with this assessment. You need to at least be able to see the first thread when the site comes up and not just the headlines. Of course I'll be here daily, but the farther down on the page the first thread goes, I think more people will be driven away.

Could they make the font size on the headlines a bit larger?

You can see the Ratings Box thread, but if they move it up maybe On the Air Tonight will also fit in.
