Thanks for the update Marc. I am starting to think they need to drop the word "fast" from the name.

Well said. They had a hit in September with a 14m+ premiere and just wasted it with this horrible season. Viewers who will not come back.

ABC has begun its long downward spiral. In the coming months, the network will fall apart -- thanks to Amer. Idol, a weak ABC bench, freshman program failure (is Samantha and Daisies), poor preparation for the strike and a program head that doesn't have a clue.

Well, it will at least have LOST as a bright spot.

I wager you'd be wrong about that Razzer The looking like a hit part anyway... now that SW? has pulled 75%+ retention. Can we get Jeff Bader to give it a tryout run?

Easy money.... now if we could just get them to do it Smiler

I mean Carpoolers opened up over 9M with Cavemen for a lead.. You don't think it could eak out another 1M with 20M plus DWTS as a lead?

It'd probably get 10 million, but "looking like a hit" by pulling 10 mil out of Dancing is ridiculous. Nobody was calling Help Me Help You a hit, and it was in that 10 mil, 50% retention area.

People like to beat up on HEROES ...BUT if you are NBC...you have to be pleased compared to what the rest of the flagging lineup puts out...HEROES is like DIFF'RENT STROKES was back in 1978-79-the shining beacon amid a failing schedule...

maybe..... did you see Carlton Cuse's WGA letter to the world? he said he was stopping work ASAP on any and all Lost duties.. word is they HAVE to show 8 due to the arc or none at all.. not sure where they were when he shut things down. But there are whispers of getting 32 Lost episodes starting this fall... should the strike not end any time soon.....

Life did improve some from Journeyman's recent numbers.

Well, Life also had the benefit of a repeat of CSI Miami, which Journeyman never had. And Journeyman was also up against The Bachelor until last week, when it did beat October Road. So I wager Journeyman's numbers last night would have been much the same as Life's.

I didn't realize that the Writer's Strike meant recycled posts from last year as well.

That's the one thing I'll disagree with, samcat. ABC was the only network who prepared well for the strike by picking up so many series so as to at least have original content on. We all know ABC shows don't repeat that well and they don't have much in the way of reality hits. It is going to be a spectacular tumble, though.

Don't waste your time disagreeing with samcat, Travis...
According to samcat, ABC has the worst programming record in the history of television, cancels all their new shows, and their November 18-49 sweeps win was a complete sham and probably all smoke and mirrors. Roll Eyes

Hahah. No, I suspect it could get around 10 million viewers... but now that ABC has aired something post-DWTS and gotten 14-15 million viewers, 10 starts to look less hit-like, IMHO. Remember Help Me Help You last year? That got 10-ish million viewers post-DWTS.

But, personally, I'll think putting a male-aimed show like Carpoolers after a hugely female-skewing show like DWTS would be a real mistake. Though this is the same network that brought us Big Shots after Grey's Anatomy...

Well it didn't help that a few weeks ago Tim Kring apologized for the 'bad' first half and promised to right the ship when the strike was over. Not real great for a ratings push...

Not to mention... once you get outside of Hollywood the level of awareness of the strike is REALLY low. The avg tv viewer last night either didn't know it was the finale or assumed it was just the fall finale before the typical repeat month of December.

My god, how that show stank this season.

Also - did anyone REALLY think this new ABC Monday line-up would work out? Why "waste" OR here? Why waste original Samantha Who episodes when it could come back after DWTS this spring? Why renew Notes from the Underbelly? Baffling. Just baffling.

I agree Note should not have been renewed and it shouldn't be a lead in to anything. OR is being wasted here. There are so many place that it could do better. There is still 10 new episodes, ABC should really consider moving it.
