Heroes and SW are huge diappointments. If Heroes can only manage 11 million with a presumed season finale i wonder what the numbers will look like in spring (strike permitting) Samantha Who is another show that got full season order way too soon. If it stays at this levels it will get probably even a second season but i suspect it will drop even lower
It would be interesting to find out what numbers The Closer got
Not the greatest numbers for Life, especially losing 1 million in the second half hour, but not horrible either. This is the new world of lower expectations, people. Get used to it. Life has all the elements of being the first new hit of this new world if the UBS execs do their job and work it. Putting it on after a semi-hit like Heroes is a nice start, especially since it will always finish 2nd in that weak time slot. They should move it their permanently.
I guess with nothing good coming out of this year's crop of new shows, I'm just hoping Life hangs on as it is the best of a weak bunch. After all, if something doesn't stick around, we will all be watching Pirate Master 24/7.
Well, I'll just watch my St. Elsewhere DVDs over and over if that comes to pass.
TV peaked with St. Elsewhere, until Joss came along anyway.

ABC has begun its long downward spiral. In the coming months, the network will fall apart -- thanks to Amer. Idol, a weak ABC bench, freshman program failure (is Samantha and Daisies), poor preparation for the strike and a program head that doesn't have a clue.
I'm dissapointed with Samantha Who's ratings without DWTS, I was expecting around 8.5 million.
Also, even if it was in reruns, CBS' 8-9 hour is the lowest rated it has been for a LONG time. I don't think HIMYM/The Class or HIMYM/Christine got that low last season, even with reruns.

And it will get worse. The meandering mess that was Volume 2 will not leave a lot of people on the edge of their seats awaiting Volume 3, especially if that is next September or even later.

Congrats, Heroes. You managed to do a half-assed, last-minutes fall finale and still couldn't pull back viewers without Dancing with the Stars or original CBS comedies on. A year ago you did a 6.5 in the demo. After this hiatus, I think you'll be lucky to break 5.0 again.
My god, how that show stank this season.
Also - did anyone REALLY think this new ABC Monday line-up would work out? Why "waste" OR here? Why waste original Samantha Who episodes when it could come back after DWTS this spring? Why renew Notes from the Underbelly? Baffling. Just baffling.

K-Ville: No one should defend its ratings now. The show will be cancelled as soon as the writer's strike is resolved.
Life: The big drop at the half hour should be concerning. This show only has 'life' because so many other shows on NBC are failing. NBC can't cancel everything.
Univision: They have been a real force on Friday, but now they take control for a Monday as well. They should put English subtitles on their shows and promote to the English audience: it would likely boost the audience another 25-50%.
NBC: may be be a solid 5th place network as soon as next year.
That's the one thing I'll disagree with, samcat. ABC was the only network who prepared well for the strike by picking up so many series so as to at least have original content on. We all know ABC shows don't repeat that well and they don't have much in the way of reality hits. It is going to be a spectacular tumble, though.

OR should be on Thursday Night after GA.
Samantha Who could work really well in repeats after DwtS seeing as how the episodes will be new for most of the casual viewers of that show.

SW should ALWAYS be attached to DWTS. Not sure why ABC felt safe putting it out there.. Perhaps it was just a toe in the pool to see how cold the water was? answer= cold.
SW makes me chuckle but I would wager Carpoolers would pull 10M plus after DWTS and look like a hit as well.

I wager you'd be wrong about that The looking like a hit part anyway... now that SW? has pulled 75%+ retention. Can we get Jeff Bader to give it a tryout run?

I thought the last few Heroes including the finale were terrific. The finale really tied things up nice and set up Vol 3. I don't believe it's going to continue to slide. It will at worst stay at this level which is a more than respectable level.
