Grissom's finale couldn't even propel CBS to 2nd in 18-34. This is why despite millions more viewers almost every night of the week that CBS doesn't make up for any of it in the ad sales department.
I watched the second half of SN last night, after The Office was over. Back to standalones for a bit, and I'm not interested. Let me know when Genevieve Cortese is back. Actually, let me know when CW greenlights the spinoff with her and Julie McNiven.
I'm sorry, buff sulky guys just don't do it for me.

Supernatural does not do better in the ratings than either of those shows. Demos pay the bills.
But they are not competing against 2 powerhouses every week. Supernatural is
I wouldn't count shows like DwtS, 2&1/2Men, House, American Idol, and NCIS as easy to beat. Also, None of the other shows on CW gets as good a lead-in as Supernatural gets.
I agree. Supernatural is the most spoiled show on the CW.
Right. Poor Gossip Girl and 90201! Just no love or PR at all
You can put it whatever section you want. NBC has put it in the renewal section which means you can fret about it for another year. Which suits me fine.

Actually, The Office was above average--honestly, they have been getting the show back into decent shape lately. Though I must confess, any episode that heavily features Rainn Wilson is going to make me laugh--"You-must-learn-your rulesssss----or you'll-be-eaten--in-your-sleep!"
30 Rock could not have a more compatible lead-in, or more hype, and it still loses almost two million viewers, and slightly over a full percentage point in the demo. NBC can keep it on for another decade, but it'll never catch on.
As somebody blogging the Golden Globes said "It's official--30 Rock now has more awards than it has viewers."

CSI's ratings will be interesting to watch for the rest of the season. Some CSI viewers really will see Grissom's departure as a natural endpoint for the show, and just walk away. Others will be curious about Samuel Jackson. But it's VERY late in the show's history to be introducing a new major character, let alone replacing the central protagonist.
If the ratings were lower than people expected, I imagine it's because many decided they'd take a hike before Grissom left, so they could remember the show the way they liked it.
I imagine it'll go on for a fair spell, but it'll never dominate the way it once did.
As long as it's against the tattered remnants of Greys Anatomy, it doesn't have to, of course.

You mean you'll be fretting--every time the ratings come out.

I know, if JDM wants to play a ghost, then go to SPN, they might not pay him him as much, but at least the cast gets along! And it'd be cool to see papa Winchester!
I don't think that's the problem for GA, the main drop happened last season and there wasn't a ghost anywhere on the show. And i don't think the show is much worse now than it was a couple of season ago. The question is not why only 13 millions watch it now but why were 25 millions watching then

I have a question though, does the T12-17 demo pay anything? I know SN does pretty well in that demo, its averaged a 1.9 this season, the same as Gossip Girl.
Very true--the ghost subplot was just the most obvious shark-jumping moment, but the show has been heading downwards because of bad scripts, pure and simple.

I've always seen CSI as an ensemble show, i've never seen Petersen as a powerful lead actor for the show. So yesterday's episode wasn't a big deal for me. I assume many have the same opinion that's why the ratings didn't spike like many thought
Then so will I. For Cortese more than McNiven, but they're both a welcome change of scenery.
It's rare the week SPN doesn't have a hot female guest. It's not just the guys on any episode. But I don't know why you a have a problem with them. It's not like they suck at acting.
Well, perhaps if I was president of NBC or GE stockholder. I am neither. As it is, there's no fretting on this end. I have been prepared for this show to end since its premiere. When it dies, it dies. All I know is that isn't going to be for another year.
Which means another year of whining from people who worry about trivialities such as Golden Globe awards and who feel it necessary to wring their hands over little shows they don't even watch.
