Prime-Time Ratings:
Monday 2/20/07

The following results are based on the fast national ratings (Live Plus Same Day data)

-Total Viewers:
CBS: 14.43 million, NBC: 12.67, Fox: 11.26, ABC: 7.84, CW: 2.51

-Adults 18-49:
CBS: 4.8 rating/12 share, NBC: 4.5/11, Fox: 4.4/11, ABC: 3.3/ 8, CW: 1.1/ 3

----------

-Yesterday’s Winners:
Deal or No Deal (NBC), Two and a Half Men (CBS), The Rules of Engagement (CBS), Heroes (NBC), 24 (Fox), CSI: Miami (CBS)

-Honorable Mention:
Prison Break (Fox)

-Yesterday’s Losers:
Everybody Hates Chris (CW), All of Us (CW), Girlfriends (CW), The Game (CW), Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC), What About Brian (ABC)

-Ratings Breakdown:
CBS opened the week on a winning note, beating No. 2 NBC by 1.76 million viewers and seven percent among adults 18-49. Fox finished a competitive third, followed by ABC and lowly the CW.

NBC’s Deal or No Deal won the 8 p.m. hour, of course, with a commanding 17.59 million viewers and a 4.8 rating/12 share among adults 18-49. Second in the time period was Fox’s Prison Break, with a healthy 9.55 million viewers and a 3.9/10 in the demo. Although the CBS comedies -- How I Met Your Mother (Viewers: #3, 9.12 million; A18-49: #3t, 3.5/ 9) and The Class (Viewers: #4, 8.80 million; A18-49: #4, 3.3/ 8) -- delivered more viewers than ABC’s competing Wife Swap, the two networks were tied for third among adults 18-49. Wife Swap averaged 8.68 million viewers (#4) and a 3.5/ 5 in the demo.

Last from 8-9 p.m. were the CW’s declining Everybody Hates Chris (Viewers: 2.99 million; A18-49: 1.3/ 3) and All of Us (Viewers: 2.54 million; A18-49: 1.1/ 3).

For anyone wondering when CBS’ The New Adventures of Old Christine is returning to CBS, mark your calendars for two back-to-back episodes in the 8 p.m. hour on March 12. One week later it moves into its regularly scheduled 8:30 p.m. time period out of How I Met Your Mother.

It was business as usual at 9 p.m., meanwhile, with three networks – CBS, NBC and Fox – each having something to boast about. Take a look:

Two and a Half Men (CBS) – 9 p.m.
Viewers: 16.58 million (#1), A18-49: 5.3/12 (#2)

The Rules of Engagement (CBS) – 9:30 p.m.
Viewers: 13.94 million (#2), A18-49: 4.9/11 (#3)

Heroes (NBC)
Viewers: 14.02 million (#2), A18-49: 6.0/14 (#1)

24 (Fox)
Viewers: 12.96 million (#3), A18-49: 5.0/11 (#3)

Comparatively, week three of CBS’ The Rules of Engagement remained a compatible player, with retention out of Two and a Half Men of a solid 84 percent in total viewers and 92 percent among ad

Also in the 9 p.m. hour were ABC’s young adult-driven Supernanny (Viewers: #4, 8.89 million; A18-49: #4, 3.5/ 8), which is the perfect fit out of Wife Swap, and the CW’s Girlfriends (Viewers: 2.24 million; A18-49: 1.0/ 2) and spin-off The Game (Viewers: 2.29 million; A18-49: 1.0/ 2). One year earlier, UPN’s combination of Girlfriends (Viewers: 3.54 million; A18-49: 1.6/ 4) and Half & Half (Viewers: 3.24 million; A18-49: 1.5/ 3) rated considerably better (and that was opposite The Winter Olympics on NBC). While the CW is likely to keep the Monday comedy rotation intact next season, it needs at least two new comedies to juice up the evening.

At 10 p.m., CBS’ veteran CSI: Miami (Viewers: 19.08 million; A18-49: 5.9/15) beat NBC’s hiatus-bound Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (Viewers: 6.40 million; A18-49: 2.6/ 7) and What About Brian (Viewers: 5.64 million; A18-49: 2.7/ 7) combined by a hefty 7.04 million viewers and 11 percent among adults 18-49. Look for the debut of NBC mob drama The Black Donnellys in the hour next Monday.

Something tells me we won't be seeing Studio 60 ever again on the NBC airwaves. Thankfully.

I'm amazed that Rules of Engagement is doing so well...what sad states of comedy.

I am also surprised about The Rules of Engagement. It is absolutely unwatchable.

Did I read that correctly? Did WAB beat S60 in 18-49?

Yeah, another series low for S60 in overall viewers and the demo. Wow, it even lost to Brian in the demo.

Amazing - four nets combine for 51 mil viewers and almost a 20 rating at 9pm. This might be the only hour of the week where all the big 4 networks have something solid. It will be interesting to see if 24 trends upward when Heroes takes a month off. Studio 60 was a bit better last night - I have watched every episode (nothing else to watch after Heroes) but I still don't think the show deserves renewal. It's just flawed inherently as a tv show. However, Black Donnelys is almost a sure-fire failure, no mob drama has succeeded on network TV as far back as I can remember.

WAB was awesome last night. I hope it beat studio60 in the 18-49. why has the 19-49 for wab jumped up to the 2.7 range when it was recently at 2.3 and 2.2 for most of the season>?

Probably the addition of Stacey Kiebler and now Tiffani Amber-Thiesen.

But how many mob dramas have there been?

Yes...by one-tenth of a rating point.

1. It turns out that the shield that was protecting 24 from any "dent" that Heroes could cause it is gone. Just a few weeks ago 24 fans were bragging about no major dent. But I think the combination of Heroes and the fact that 24 is becoming more heavily focused on the torture aspect can be blamed. Both shows about saving people, or more so case preventing people from needing to be saved. But Heroes does not torture people. They frequently kill people sure but there is a difference. 24 averaging 15-16 million viewers. Yea right!

Second note of interest was that The Game slightly improved over Girlfriends. Sure it was only 40,000 but still a point of interest.

I am looking foward to watching the Black Donnellys next week. And I hope it provides a more entertaining hour in the pos-Heroes slot that was occupied by Studio 60. I really do not want to ever see that show air after Heros again. It's an intelligent show but I think there are many problems with it.

Deal or No Deal was funny last night. The contestent was singing and the amount that was in his case was ironic. Deal or no Deal always provides for an entertaining hour that is light and enjoyable. It's the perfect lead in for Heroes because of that.

CBS wins another Demo night

Although I can't stand the show, it is interesting that CSI Miami can deleiver almost the same amount of Demo viewers as Heroes.

"Buzzworthy"
Two and a Half Men - Viewers: 16.58 million, A18-49: 5.3/12
The Rules of Engagement – Viewers: 13.94 million, A18-49: 4.9/11

Not "Buzzworthy"
24 - Viewers: 12.96 million, A18-49: 5.0/11

Rules ROCKS!

I know I'm in a very small minority, but I really like Studio 60. Is there any chance for its future? I just can't stand CSI: Miami. Typical CSI show with about 10 times more David Caruso than anyone should have to stand. I'm not excited about The Black Donnellys.
