-Total Viewers:
Fox: 6.10 million, CBS: 5.24, ABC: 4.40, NBC: 3.24

-Adults 18-49:
Fox: 2.1 rating/6 share, CBS: 1.5/ 5, ABC and NBC: 1.1/ 3 each

----------

Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 20 percent at this same point last year to approximately 28 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.

----------

-Saturday’s Winners:
Nothing

-Saturday’s Losers (excluding repeats):
Saturday Night Football (ABC) and the evening overall

----------

-Ratings Breakdown:
Fox led this typically lackluster Saturday, with a first-place finish in each of the four half hours care of its perennial combination of Cops (Viewers: 5.95 million; A18-49: 2.0 rating/6 share) and America’s Most Wanted (Viewers: 6.24 million; A18-49: 2.1/ 6). CBS finished second overall in both total viewers and adults 18-49 with its line-up of repeat theatrical Wedding Crashers (Viewers: #2, 4.86 million; A18-49: #2, 1.5/ 5 from 8-10 p.m.) and 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: #1, 6.01 million; A18-49: #1, 1.6/ 5 at 10 p.m.

Saturday Night Football on ABC left little to be desired, with just 4.40 million viewers (#3) and a 1.1/ 3 among adults 18-49 (#3t) from 8-11 p.m. And NBC capped off the evening with repeats of Knight Rider (Viewers: #4, 3.33 million; A18-49: #4, 0.9/ 3), which should not have been renewed for the remainder of the season; The Office (Viewers: #4, 2.41 million; A18-49: #4, 0.8/ 2), which does not play well in repeats; and Saturday Night Live (Viewers: 3.45 million; A18-49: 1.3/ 4 from 9:30-11 p.m.), which will certainly slow down now that the election is over. What a night!

Who was playing on Saturday to bring in those low ratings for ABC? Eeker

You know NBC is in trouble when a repeat of struggling KR almost does as well as Crusoe and LJ on Fridays. Repeats of SNL won't work in that spot either.

CBS should win the week in the demo thanks to ABC's weak football performance and their overrun tonight. It would take a really really good performance for ABC and a really poor performance for CBS's programs post-football tonight (unlikely) for ABC to win.

After 17 Nights of November Sweep, ABC Prevails in A18-49s; CBS Tops in P2+ Viewers

After 17 nights of the 2008 November Sweep, ABC prevails in attracting the most A18-49s with 3.13, with CBS in second place at 2.92, NBC third at 2.78, and FOX fourth with 2.50. At the bottom are the mininets starting with Univision at 1.61, The CW at 1.01 and MyNetworkTV in last averaging 0.53.

In viewers, CBS is first, with ABC about a million viewers behind in second, NBC third, FOX fourth followed by the mininets.

MyNetworkTV is up +28% in A18-49, with viewers up +48% from last year. The only other network showing any year-over-year growth is Univision, which is up +3% in viewers...all other networks are down double digits in A18-49 and single digits in viewers, with The CW and FOX experiencing the worst year-over-year fall-off.

Overall for the seven networks, A18-49 demo is down -12% from last year, while viewers are down -8%.

The data for this and last year are all final Nielsen numbers except for the last two nights which are preliminary data. All Sweep calculations incorporate Nielsen final numbers for primetime programming, Monday to Saturday 8-11 pm, and Sunday 7-11 pm. For daytime over-runs into primetime and primetime run-pasts into latenight (e.g. sports coverage, award shows), only the primetime portion of the program numbers have been factored in. For networks that split programs into multiple segments of sustaining and non-sustaining coverage, the rating for the sustaining portion applies to the entire program broadcast.

CBS Winning Week 8 After Six Nights

After six nights of Week 8, CBS is winning the week with the most A18-49s and average viewers. ABC is second, FOX third, NBC fourth, UNI fifth, CW sixth and MNT is in last.

As mushu_jj points out, tonights face-off between CBS (with their 'NFL' overrun and '60 Minutes' interview with President-Elect Obama) and ABC's strong Sunday line-up will determine the victor this week.

Week 8, First Six Nights (Monday-Saturday)
# Network A18-49 (%YOY) Millions of Viewers (%YOY)
====================================================
1. CBS 3.05 (-9%) 11.335 (-3%)

6. CW 1.20 (-15%) 2.560 (-26%)
7. MNT 0.41 (-23%) 1.165 (-5%) <- 4 nights

Very weak football game for ABC. The ACC is not only weak this year but it doesn't have many teams that have huge national followings regardless. While I still think the Saturday Night College Football is a worthwhile endevor for ABC (because there are a few very big match-ups a year and the games would be on in the afternoon if not at night anyways), the only way to really make it work is to get agreements in place with more big conferences so they can do more flex scheduling.

Are the shows being preempted tonight? If so, ratings will be down across the board.

It all depends on the fires. If the fires act up and winds howl again, then yes, everything across the nets will be preempted. And considering the condition at this point in time, I'd say we can see some delays.

Dumont, The CW demo seems low and it dropped from the results you posted in the Friday thread, is the value correct?

Thanks Zedman2, I left the divisor in for The CW on Saturday. The correct numbers are posted below (and I'll revise the earlier posting too).

Thats about what ABC had been getting until the BIG matchups a couple of weeks ago. The Demo is a little low, but thats what FOOTBALL usually gets for ABC.
