-Yesterday’s Losers (excluding repeats): My Name is Earl (NBC), Kath & Kim (NBC), Kitchen Nightmares (Fox), Life on Mars (ABC)
----------
Note: Any prior rating results are based on the final nationals. Since the level of DVR penetration has increased from 20 percent at this same point last year to approximately 28 percent at present, the overall results may be negatively impacted.

-Ratings Breakdown: CBS’ Thursday winning streak continued, with another first-place finish in both total viewers and adults 18-49. Second was ABC, followed by NBC, Fox and the CW.
Beginning with 8 p.m., CBS’ veteran Survivor: Gabon is down, but not out with a dominant 13.02 million viewers and a 4.1 rating/11 share from 8-9 p.m. One year earlier, the China edition averaged 14.68 million viewers and a 4.8/13 in the demo. Now that Charlie is gone, it looks like Corinne the witch, deadly dull Bob and horrific Randy should all have their bags packed.
Second overall in the 8 p.m. hour was ABC’s Ugly Betty (Viewers: #2, 9.20 million; A18-49: 2.8/ 8), followed by NBC’s lackluster My Name is Earl (Viewers: #3, 6.99 million; A18-49: #2, 2.8/ 8) and the awful Kath & Kim (Viewers: #3, 5.08 million; A18-49: #4, 2.1/ 5), Fox’s uneventful Kitchen Nightmares (Viewers: #4, 4.65 million; A18-49: #4, 2.1/ 6), and the CW’s fading Smallville (Viewers: #5, 4.38 million; A18-49: #5, 1.7/ 4). Someone should tell Molly Shannon that Kath & Kim is an ongoing half-hour sitcom, not a sketch on Saturday Night Live.
Leadership was split once again in the 9 p.m. hour as follows:
Next were below-average performances for NBC’s The Office (Viewers: #3, 8.18 million; A18-49: #3, 4.0/ 9) and 30 Rock (Viewers: #3, 7.51 million; A18-49: #3, 3.6/ 8), which featured a guest appearance by Jennifer Aniston, followed by another installment of bland Kitchen Nightmares on Fox (Viewers: #4, 4.91 million; A18-49: #4, 2.3/ 5), and Supernatural on the CW (Viewers: #5, 3.91 million; A18-49: #5, 1.6/ 4). With so many other holes to worry about, Supernatural should have no trouble returning next season.
Leadership was also tied in the 10 p.m. hour as follows:
ER (NBC) Viewers: 9.80 million (#2), A18-49: 3.7/10 (#1)
Keep in mind that ER featured guest appearances by former cast members Anthony Edwards, Laura Innes, Paul McCrane and Abraham Benrubi. And ABC’s Life on Mars, which is heading to Wednesday at 10 p.m. out of Lost in January, was last with 8.94 million viewers and a 2.9/ 8 in the demo. Comparably, that put retention out of the last half of lead-in Grey’s Anatomy (Viewers: 15.77 million; A18-49: 6.0/14 at 9:30 p.m.) of just 57 percent in total viewers and 48 percent among adults 18-49.
Great number for Supernatural unfortunately it wont even be close in finals.
Teh CW in the #1 market, was showing the NFL game, and neither program (Smallville or Supernatural ran that night at any time). So expect a huge drop in ratings with final data.
Was SN preempted anywhere cause that number seems way too high
UB is starting to bounce back, LOM will end up with around 8.5 million in the finals jus like in the previous weeks. That's the good news, the bad news is that with such lead-in the numbers are still bad
Even tho shows like SN and SV were pre-empted in New York - if that affiliate runs them at a later date (apparently 6 on Sat.) will those numbers count in the final ratings? Just curious how that all works.

The Office was not only below-average, but below-par. I still like it, but I'm laughing a lot less.
30 Rock is not so disappointing--I never laugh at all. There is not one second of this show that is funny. There is not one character I wouldn't like to see crushed by a falling safe, or some other tired cliche, which is all 30 Rock has to offer.
Please note that even with all the endless hype for 30 Rock and Fey, and Aniston as guest star, and even with The Office doing below-average #'s, 30 Rock still does significantly worse than its lead-in.
If Aniston didn't get paid for this appearance, she should have her agent whacked.
30 Rock dropped yet again. I think I was very close with my predicition earlier this week/over the weekend. Expect yet another drop next week to just above 7 mill viewers and a 3.0-3.2 rating in the demo.
I knew both CSI and Grey's had big drops in the demo, from last year, but I didn't realize how big GA's was. I thought they were just in the low 7's last year, not over an 8.0
Disapointing numbers for ER. I thought for sure it would be well over 10 million viewers and a 4.0 in the demo. I guess even Dr. Green can't bring the viewers back.
Wow, MNIE tied UB in the demo. Good news for NBC and bad news for ABC. Looking ahead, since Cupid isn't going on Monday, it would be smart to try it in the Thursday at 8 PM spot. It should appeal to the same UB audience and hopefully pull in higher demos.
FOX is just waiting for Bones to come in on Thursdays. KN should not be on schedule, let alone renewed for another year.
Why is K&K on the schedule? Demo and viewership retention is awful. It's got to be bringing The Office's numbers down.
Is it just me or is The Office becoming a chore to watch? Glad Pam is back in Scranton... but I wish the show would be, um, funny again? On a consistent basis?
30 Rock had its moments last night, but a relatively weak episode IMHO.
Melissa George's character on Grey's Anatomy concerns me... but I'd love to see more of Mary McDonnell as the heart surgeon with Asperger's! Something is majorly wrong with Izzie Stephens' brain... are they really being so heavy handed with foreshadowing her having a tumor so they can write Heigl off? I guess Melissa George then replaces her as the resident/intern hot blonde of Seattle Grace?
And NBC really ought to be reconsidering those full-season pickups of K&K and Knight Rider... their numbers are just awful!
I think they would show up on the Live+7 (DVR) ratings, but not the Live+Same Day ratings. Final Live+SD ratings should be out later today/early evening.

The Office hasn't been the same the last two episodes without Amy Ryan. She injected a whole new energy to the show this year. Her absence is sorely missed. They need to bring her back or ratings will continue to slide.

That reminds me. Anyone know what the Boston ABC Affiliate did with the Shows? Did they air after the game?
Could see all 3 ABC shows take a hit in the finals.

I have not seen last nights episode yet, but I think this season of The Office has been really strong and funny.

Its nice to see Ugly Betty back up a bit. I have to admit, the show had been pretty weak, they lost the heart of the show, but they have found it again in the past two episodes. I think the strength of this show was showing that through the superficiality that the characters actually cared about each other.
