Fox is developing a TV adaptation of the popular website "Texts From Last Night."
"The Big Bang Theory" scribe Steve Holland is set to write the comedy, which has scored a script order plus a large penalty from the net. Sony Pictures TV will produce, along with Adam Sandler's Happy Madison shingle.
Launched last February, the "Texts" blog invites readers to post embarrassing messages that they've sent to friends, perhaps in the middle of the night or while intoxicated. The users' identity is concealed, save for their area code.
The site's founders recently sealed a deal with Penguin's Gotham Books to compile a selection of messages.
In writing the TV version, Holland will loosely base the show's characters and plot on the whole idea of racy -- and sometimes embarrassing -- communication, particularly among the twentysomething set.
Holland's other credits include "Rules of Engagement" and "Less Than Perfect."
Now, while I think this is pretty interesting, I'm not sure if the novelty will last. I'm sure they can try and craft good characters, but viewers might decide to just see this show based on what it's based on, drunk texts.
Personally, I'd rather see a show based on stuff from fmylife.com (Is that considered advertising for another website because that wasn't what I was going for okay?)
Megan Fox/U2 Ryan Reynolds/ Lady Gaga Drew Barrymore/ Regina Spektor Gerard Butler/ Shakira
Quite a list. Reynolds, Barrymore, and Butler will be awesome. I predict massive 300 spoofing!!! And the plugging in of Barrymore's movie with Wiig.
(P.S., Is anyone else getting sick about Megan Fox? She's pretty to look at and all but the most notable thing she's ever done is wash a car on Transformers...that was the right reference right? It's been a while.)

This ain't politico.com.
I'd rather talk about the TV ratings of the speech instead of the politics involved with it.
Whether we're Red State, Blue State or an Independent, we all love TV... so can't we all just get along?
Don't know if anyone posted it, but Weeds (season finale) had 1.3 million viewers.

ABC orders 'Secret Millionaire' episodes Fox passed on reality series renewal By Nellie Andreeva

Sept 10, 2009, 06:01 PM ET ABC is ordering six episodes of "Secret Millionaire," the network confirmed Thursday.
The show, based on an U.K. format, features wealthy benefactors living incognito in impoverished communities until they reveal their real identities and donate large sums to the needy.
"Secret Millionaire," produced by RDF USA, had a limited run on Fox in December but wasn't renewed for a second cycle.
It's considered a better fit for ABC, whose reality slate is built on feel-good fare.

6 episodes - maybe they're thinking about using this instead of Shark Tank on Tuesdays? Probably a good move. If not, I can see it having another December run.
Isn't "V" entering Tuesdays at 8pm in November after Shark Tank wraps (Labor Day weekend aside, its ratings haven't been entirely embarrassing... though not exactly a pickup lock)? This seems more like a between DWTS cycles move to me...

Douglas, thanks for posting the metered markets for the past six nights.
ION's strategy to encore 'Durham County' at 11 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday nights may prove a wise gambit. The new original series, which preemed on Monday night at 10 pm to a 0.5HH/1% national final rating, is probably up to a 1.2HH cume based on a projection from the top 12 markets.
A 1.2HH cume would put it above the 1.1HH that 'NCIS' averaged on ION this past summer.
Of particular note were the metered market numbers for New York City:
By my calculations, assuming minimal double-watching, just in the New York market alone, 'Durham County' has been seen in 170,978 households (2.3% of NYC's 7.5 million households, the biggest market in Nielsen's 114.9 million household market).
ION has the makings of a real sleeper hit in 'Durham County'. Where are the press releases from ION?
'Durham County' on ION has gotten off to a strong start...could it grow to out-rate previous viewer-record-holding 'Doc' on the former PAX network?

Between cycles of DWTS will be The Bachelor on Mondays, and they have shows like Scrubs/Better Off Ted, possibly a couple other comedies, and new dramas that they would probably use January-March. Like i said, they'll probably air it in December on Mondays or Tuesdays.
On a different note, my interested has just peaked in Big Brother again. So glad to see Jordan win HOH - while Natalie seems like a goner no matter who wins, it seems like Jordan really has to win HOH to have any chance of winning the game, though.

Agree with TravisYanan. According to The Wrap, production hasn't begun yet and the show most likely would air early 2010.

Why does ABC seem to take other networks shows so often?

This show worked for Fox and they aren't near as feel good as ABC. I could see it being used as filler on Sunday nights this winter or in the summer months.

Maybe ABC would give it a try on Saturdays? They'll need something January on, and all they have is movies and repeats. Other than that, it could definitely be filler even for a show like EM:HE. Viewers tend to get tired of it a few months into the season, and maybe switching things up a bit with Secret Millionaire is a good way to go.
