CBS Handily Wins Week 12, with NBC a Strong Second; MyNetworkTV Takes Sixth Ahead of Struggling The CW
After seven nights of Week 12 (including four nights of preliminary numbers), CBS leads in A18-49 with a 3.21 average. NBC came a strong second with a 2.91 average in A18-49, with FOX third with 2.16, ABC with a <cough, summer numbers, cough> 1.87, Univision fifth with 1.43, MyNetworkTV sixth with 0.80 (four nights only) and The CW right at the bottom with 0.66.
In viewers, CBS had a commanding average of 11,583,000 viewers, while NBC is second, ABC third, FOX fourth, Univision fifth, MyNetwork sixth (with a 2,288,000 viewer average after four nights) and The CW dead last.
Based on trends evident after four days and MNT's programming this past weekend ('WWE Smackdown' last night, and the broadcast premiere of 'Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties' tonight), MyNetworkTV likely finished with a record-breaking week, and is expected to finish Week 12 averaging 1.4HH/2%, 0.8 in A18-49, and 2,400,000 million viewers.
Those are some monster ratings for football. As I've said before, this year especially Sunday is dominated by football. Football Night in America did well too. A 3.9 demo at 7:30 is excellent.
CBS got a great result out of 60 Minutes, but with no competition from FOX and ABC, I expected Survivor to be higher.
ABC got a lower result out of AFV. Santa Clause 2 started out slow and struggled to build. DH does not repeat well.
FOX got some really low numbers out of animation repeats, especially The Simpsons. 1.5 demo?
CW also got lower numbers out of their movie night.
Damn it must’ve been horrible to had watch the awful Oakland Raiders who’s commitment to being just as bad as the Lions has them losing to the Patriots by more than 20 points and calling timeouts.
Glad we got the great Steelers/Ravens game, which was great!
Got a question are the Raiders a real football team anymore?
The CW still exists? Spaceballs? Next thing you know they'll be airing the terrible MGM movies Troll and Child's Play.

Considering the tough competition from the football game, I think the numbers are good. *On TVByTheNumbers, I saw that last nights game was the 2nd highest in SNF history.
