I'm looking forward to Lost's return to this timeslot. The CM/Lost ratings comparisons from Fall 2006 was certainly fun. I expect CM to thwomp Lost in HH, and outside of the Lost premiere, I expect CM to win handily in viewers with a slight demo edge to Lost.
Good that Private Prictice is not getting much ratings cuz i hate ABC since they choose to cancell Pushing Daisies instead of advertise it better, they do a lot of advertising on Private Practice and don't even advertise Pushing Daisies and the difference in rating between the two of them is not very much, GOOD JOB ABC!! That's what you get for chosing crappy shows intead of very creative and original shows. YOU GOT WHAT YOU DESERVE!!
Criminal Minds SPOILER ALERT (highlight the white space below, if you want to read it):
During the episode's thrilling car chase, I didn't know what was more intriguing: what was going on with the unsub and his "family" in the lead car or the constant display of Agent Prentiss' long dark hair swerving all over the place!
But seriously, not often does CM get to be action-packed but it was so last night. What an entertaining final episode for 2008. Hope for more action to come in 2009 and onward!
At NBC, The Muppets: Letter To Santa did decently but I expected more from the Muppets. Life and Law and Order weren't able to take advantage of the increased lead in.
At CBS, Christine and GU are still struggling to get past the 8 million/low 2 demo. Still too low in the demos for a comedy and I don't think it will get better going against Idol. ROE really needs to come in on Wednesday with GU moved to Monday.
At ABC, PD and DSM did poorly. PP deserves a little credit for holding a mid 2 demo with no lead in or lead out.
At FOX, SM did decently but well off it's great debut numbers. Still think it has potential as a Friday show though. Bones repeated really low.
At CW, Victoria's Secret Fashion Show did well in repeat but Stylista couldn't capitalize on it. Stylista in concept should have done better with the CW audience. Somewhere along the line, there was a disconnect with the audience.
Once we determine that no one is interested in a show, we opt to utilize what's left in our budget for shows we still believe in. You should actually be thanking me for not yanking Pushing Daisies off the air sooner. If you continue with this attitude, I might just not broadcast the final episode and you will be left in limbo forever.
Please adjust your attitude or prepare for my wrath.
Yours Truly, Stephen McPherson ABC Programming Guru

There is a common theory that other shows are the cause for the fact that someone's favorite show is cancelled. I really don't understand it. ABC promoted PD a lot, viewers just weren't interested in it. It's not PP's fault that there was a disconnect. But welcome to the board!

For greenlighting yet another nauseating full-of-itself Bryan Fuller wankfest that was doomed to fail from the very moment of its conception?
I do find it interesting to try to figure out when ABC will be airing the last episodes of PD and DSM. According to The Futon Critic PD has 3 episodes left but only 2 wed's in January to air them. DSM has 4 episodes left with the same 2 Wed's in January. My guess was they air the two DSM back to back from 9-11 in those two weeks with PD leading off the night with 2 of the last 3 episodes(for what is sure to be a ratings bonanza) . Not sure when the last episode of PD will air? Perhaps after The Suite Life of Zach and Cody on Disney? It will have a stronger lead in then DSM did.
