Given the way NBC runs things around here, I wouldn't mind seeing the network go completely out of business. NBC is completely run by dopes. Letting its Chicago O&O main 10 p.m. news anchor keep his job after what he said this week was totally unbelievable and unconscionable. Mad No surprise from head idiots Jeff "Doogie" Zucker and Ben "Cokehead" Silverman. Those two assholes, it's 10 p.m. news anchor (who is now an embarrassment to my race), and WMAQ management are total scum. Screw each and every one of them.

You had 101 million viewers out of the Super Bowl to capitalize on and you fuckin' failed when Chuck, Heroes, Medium, Life, Friday Night Lights, Knight Rider, new shows like Kings or the soon to be procedural hit Southland, or any new show like a multi-cam would've easily scored better. CSI: was not even new last night and your ass almost got beat by a major league food network show. The Office you have been a disgraced to all those greats on Thursday Night's Must See TV lineup of shows like Cosby, Family Ties, Cheers, Different World, Seinfeld, Fraiser, Friends, Will & Grace, and many other players. The truth is The Office isn't doing that much better than Joey was on NBC and would've been a better option out of the Super Bowl. NBC wake the hell up you are a fourth place network and you had the most coveted lead-in spot of the year and you're not getting another one until 2012. NBC you should be rebuilding and instead your still going backwards and dropping the ball. 30 Rock is not even worth talking about right now.

The traditional multi-cams have proven to be worthy if their good and NBC should be going back to them, but their simply not. ER was the only good thing about NBC the whole night and the bad lead in and going up against the hot medical show has produced bad ratings for them right now. ER was emotional and if NBC doesn't get a hit out of Kings and Southland then this network is in serious trouble of possibly going out of business down the road, which is the sad news. That was my burn and the damn truth.

Can we now officially fire someone over at NBC for not putting Heroes after the superbowl (or at least Chuck) and reclaiming Mondays? The office did actually worse than last week -- maybe more people realized how unfunny the show really is???? This is the biggest mistake of any network this season.

LOL! at Cokehead Silverman!

T Dog thank you for letting me know that. Chicago has had to deal with some embarrassing figures as of late like Blagoevich, but at least you guys have the man in office Barack. I love Chicago and going there from time to time and hopefully you guys get that 2016 Olympics.

For your newscaster to keep his job is not a good way for NBC to be carrying on like nothing happened and shit.

NBC has a lot of problems and now its spilling into their local affiliates. Its time for parent company GE to step in and fire everybody that's in charge and rebuild.

I like the sound of the medical drama and the two sitcoms. Hopefully both of those sitcoms are multi-cams. If CBS' green lights both of them then I want them to officially trade Gary Unmarried to ABC so GU does not have to go off the air.

11th Hour's replay ratings have been more impressive all season than their original ratings. I think 11th Hour has an audience and a move to another night would be a good option maybe rebuilding Saturday Nights?
How about we cancel the dreadful Eleventh Hour instead?

Grey's is no longer TV's #1 medical show that goes to House.
House has always been the #1 TV medical show in my heart... since November 2004! But Grey's used to be a close 2nd. Not anymore though.

Hopefully ABC installs a comedy hour here with Surviving Suburbia in the future leading into Grey's.
But then you may have a similar scenario as last season's "Miss/Guided." Last time a successful comedy aired Thursdays 8/7c on ABC was "Mork & Mindy."

America's Second Most Watched Network FOX has Bones, which is TV's most solid ratings player outside of CBS. Bones is just one of these shows as mentioned before it moves and performs big time major league ratings. It has now controlled Thursday Nights at 8pm getting a lot of that CBS procedural audience. Bones is no longer a FOX show its now a show in its own league. I wouldn't be surprised next week if Survivor on CBS posts its lowest season premiere ratings to date as the hour will be very close and interesting with Survivor winning in the demo and the total viewers changing each week.
10 million is a good number but it's definitely an 8/7c show. What happened when on January 22, an original "Bones" went up against the likes of "CSI" and "Grey's Anatomy"? And for those writing off "Lie to Me", "Bones" did WORSE in the post-Idol time slot (Wed 9/8c) at this time 3 years ago until "Bones" and "Idol" switched time slots. "Bones" is clearly a better show than "Lie to Me" but don't count out "Lie to Me" just yet.

Hell's Kitchen on the other is a show on its way to beating The Office soon and is a demo player, but not a viewer show.
Slow down! Office is a top 10 show in that demo. And still is, despite HK. I like both.

NBC I'll post this scary ass picture of 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord at the Super Bowl since the SB is the last time you'll see ratings higher than 20 million viewers until either next football season or the Winter Olympics.

AnnaLynne McCord (90210, CBS/CW)
First off, that's really the vixen Eden from "Nip/Tuck"! Second, you forgot about the March 15 premiere of "Kings"! Big Grin

Of the NBC shows you just mentioned, not ONE would've done 22 million or more. It's the best NBC can do at this current era. And the days of airing a pilot episode directly after the Super Bowl have been gone since 1999's hilarious pilot of "Family Guy", which fortunately got its only reprieve from DVD sales and success from Adult Swim. Don't get your hopes up on "Southland" or "Kings" being big hits, by the way.

C'mon, BlueLick, now say something you don't actually like about "The Office"!

One last note, classic Michael Scott line from Thursday: "It's really amazing [you're pregnant]. Congratulations, Karen. So is there a guy, or a... a person, or a... a _____ machine that did this to you, or...?" If you saw this episode, you KNOW what word fills in that blank! Big Grin

Ya it turned out to be a waste like many other post-Superbowl eps. Criminal Minds is another recent one to come to mind as was last year's House, although House never really needed the Superbowl in my opinion. The problem was NBC had nothing else to really air there. Personally I think something like Medium or SVU would've done a better rating because they simply have a larger pool or regular fans, but honestly, that would simply state tot the world that NBC is simply going to continue to rely on these aging hits. Why not just put the ER series finale there if that was the case?

Those CBS pilots look terrible, especially the sitcoms. The one seems like a small ripoff of Worst Week, IMO, and the other one really didnt make much sense to me the first time I read it-LOL. If these are the sitcoms CBS is going for next season, things are looking worse for both Gary Unmarried and Old Christine.

Lipstick Jungle on another network - since the second season premiered, I've felt like this show wasn't done. And when NBC announced it wasn't cancelled yet, I had a feeling it would be back next season. I think it would be great on Bravo. Lifetime would also be another great fit for it.

The Grey’s Anatomy cross-over gave Private Practice a nice lift, with the sophomore drama at a season-high (and dominant) 12.99 million viewers and a 5.3/14 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. Comparably, retention out of the second half of lead-in Grey’s Anatomy (Viewers: 15.72 million; A18-49: 6.0/15 at 9:30 p.m.) was a solid 83 percent in total viewers and 88 percent in the demo.

Wow. I was almost going to ask if that wasn't a typo, then I saw the retention numbers. That is one big boost. I guess that Addison centric promos do work.

Raising the obvious question...if they like her so much, why don't they just watch her on PP under normal conditions?

Bait and switch. The first season was all about promoting the new characters, and people felt cheated. This season Addison's personal evolution and drama has been stuck doing book ends of the episodes so far. This is the first time they give her some real juicy personal drama the entire show!

And suddenly all those disappointed viewers that for almost two seasons felt cheated decided that this time they will believe the promo and tuned in? And of course it had nothing to do with highly promoted Grey's/PP crossover? I guess rather most viewers believed that when they watch PP episode they will see some of their favourite Grey's characters guest starring and that's the reason for higher ratings. By the way ABC must be really desperate to air such misleading promos to gain more viewers. For about two weeks they were promoting crossover starting this week when it actually will be only next week.

Arden, your first post in the forum would have been my next post (minus the last two sentences) had I returned sooner.

Regarding Hangfire's response to my post, PP actually did very well in its first year, regardless of what Walsh's role and eventually suffered because its audience proved too fragile to withstand the lengthy period off the air.

And while it is true the episodes are not as Walsh centric as some might have imagined, she is still "home base" in the show even if other's storylines may be more prominent in a given ep.

And to wrap up, I think PP has improved because the other characters have blossomed. Amy Brenneman has been fabulous. And even if the show does not get a big lasting boost from the crossover, as long as it approaches 3.5 it will stay in the period regardless of retention percentages. They will leave well enough alone.
