Versus the year ago its up 18% in the demo and 26% in viewers.
Versus episode # 14 from last season its up 18% in the demo and up 33% in viewers.
Hell Compared to 2 seasons ago (same period and same 14th episode of that season) its up 8% in the demo and 19% in viewers.
In fact you have to go back to its first season (the 2005 -2006 season) to see a better performance during the month of February.
Yes, I'm proud of Supernatural this season. It's one of very few shows, that I can recall, that's actually UP this season. Everything else is down or stagnant.

There are a few shows that are up compared to last year based on its average, but I do wonder how many shows have bested their previous years performance every single week that they have had new episode. I imagine that list is fairly small. What is also nice its that while its increased, its lead in is actually down all but one week this season.
Then you have that not only has it been up week to week every episode this year, but that it has had 4 or 5 episodes that have performed better then what it received for the last two seasons in comparison to the year ago. Thats pretty awesome.

One of the lowest rated episodes of the season and it aired against a CSI rerun. I wonder if this is a 'water cooler effect'? People watched The Office After the Super Bowl and then went to work the next day talking about what a horribly unfunny show it really is. The result was that now some of its formerly regular viewers are even embarrassed to be watching it.
??? I'm not sure what you're stating about The Office. The ratings it received were in line with what it has been getting since around October. The show started off with ratings in the low 9 millions but since October it's been in the mid to high 8 millions and a demo ranging from a 4.1 - 4.6. It also receives very good demo ratings based on its overall viewership. It's one of the few NBC shows still getting decent ratings so I think the critical praise it gets is deserved.
Anyway I agree with what everyone is saying about Bones; that show seems to do great in the ratings whenever it airs. I've seen a couple of episodes and it looks good but I haven't been able to watch it regularly.
I also agree about 30 Rock; this show doesn't get the kind of ratings to warrant all the awards and praise it gets. It's fine that it appeals to a core group of people. but giving it all this praise as one of the best comedic shows when most of America doesn't find it funny is going a little too far.
I hear all of these good things about BBT but for some reason it's not as appealing as HIMYM for me at least. But I can see why people like it.
For when PP has been called PP and not a backdoor pilot during GA... yes, PP did hit a series high (though we'll see if it holds in finals because of overrun. The premiere on 9/26/07 did a 5.1 in the fast nationals.
ABC pulled a fast one (and an effective one!) by advertising last night as a 2-hour crossover event. GA was business as usual beside the final moments with Derek getting the phone call from Addison, and then there was a flashback to 14 hours earlier so we didn't get back to the crossing over until the final act of PP (though, again, it was effective because viewers stuck around much more than they've been doing).
Next week will be interesting... even with CSI in the mix (I believe it's new) will GA spike up?

BTW i didn't watch GA last night, was there a true crossover, do i have to watch PP also?
What a disaster for the Office. One of the lowest rated epiosodes of the season. NBC did it again
I rather enjoyed the fake crossover between Grey's and Private. I havent watched either in awhile, so it was a pleasant surprise. I gave up on Greys with the whole Denny's ghost b.s. I am also glad that they are phasing out that oh-so-whiny TR knight, it was nice knowin' ya George!!! I also noticed in the Private credits that Marti Noxon is no longer one of the producers. All I can say is.... Thank God. Her ideas of storytelling were ludicrous at best. She completely weighed down the credibility of that show. I just may have to give this show another chance.
Now that the Denny part of the "OMG Izzie haz sick" storyline is done... suddenly the show has become largely enjoyable (even if Izzie is still being a complete bonehead about figuring out what's wrong with her by, y'know, not telling anyone... still I feel like her blood samples were mixed up with that lady in the clinic's). I agree, I too hope they continue to phase George out.
mushu_jj recently recommended I start watching it again because the quality has risen considerably. He was right.

I guess those numbers for the Office are somewhat disapointing after the high sampling of viewers on Super Bowl Sunday. I don't understand though why networks (especially NBC who needs viewers like a homeless person needs a warm blanket) would not want to promote a new show after the Super Bowl. Obviously you want a large amount of people to sample a show that your proud of. This would have been the perfect opportunity to launch Kings or another new show that NBC planned on debuting this season. Most people know what the Office is and if they liked it they would have been watching it by now. I just don't think airing it after the Super Bowl was going to matter much and it obviously didn't.

That is a very interesting idea. If that is the lowest rated episode of the season, than the whole Super Bowl thing was an embarrassment, and all this with a CSI repeat.

The Grey’s Anatomy cross-over gave Private Practice a nice lift, with the sophomore drama at a season-high (and dominant) 12.99 million viewers and a 5.3/14 among adults 18-49 at 10 p.m. Comparably, retention out of the second half of lead-in Grey’s Anatomy (Viewers: 15.72 million; A18-49: 6.0/15 at 9:30 p.m.) was a solid 83 percent in total viewers and 88 percent in the demo.
Wow. I was almost going to ask if that wasn't a typo, then I saw the retention numbers. That is one big boost. I guess that Addison centric promos do work.
Raising the obvious question...if they like her so much, why don't they just watch her on PP under normal conditions?
Bait and switch. The first season was all about promoting the new characters, and people felt cheated. This season Addison's personal evolution and drama has been stuck doing book ends of the episodes so far. This is the first time they give her some real juicy personal drama the entire show!
