Knight Rider is an atrocity.

Yeah...it's not very good.

I know that Ford was going to be taking prominence, but I didn't know that K.I.T.T, a Ford, would be chased by a Ford while speeding down winding roads and zipping by unaware citizens...who are driving Fords (and one Volvo...which is owned by Ford).

If this does get turned into a series, would Ford continue to be as prominent with everything else being secondary?

The effects are decent. The actors (especially Deanna Russo) are pretty bad. Some of the camera angles are just weird.

But...I think it's a concept that could work with some major re-tooling.

No wonder why NBC didnt release it to critics.

If it's anything like the script (which I imagine it is, what with the writers' strike making rewrites impossible) it has no choice but to be bad... but I wonder about the camp value.

It's not even good camp. Camp is fun. This isn't fun, it's just bad.

Its not worth retooling. Bionic Woman wasn't worth retooling. How about something at least remotely original for once? Hell, even another Law and Order spinoff would be more original than another bad remake.

So, basically, it's a Sci-Fi Channel Saturday night movie that was for some reason / by accident broadcast on NBC?

I was talking about major re-tooling of this movie/backdoor pilot (not the original show) and only IF this does well and NBC feels the need to do it.

But, I predict initial interest and huge dropoff throughout the night.

granted I have it on in the background, but the bits and pieces that I'm catching this is pretty bad. any guesses on what the ratings will be this week? and the guess for next weeks ratings?

Hahah, yes, that makes much more sense than when I read the minus sign as a hyphen.

Whoever thought that remaking Knight Rider was a good idea should really be shot. I sure hope NBC is not considering making picking it up to series for next season. It would be the first to be cancelled.
